Hello. While trying to buy iso proply alcohol used for cleaning vaporizers in my local chem shop, I found I couldn't get a solution with more concentration than 70%. Can I use that? Buy it at your local drug store. shoppers drug mart, rexal, its like 4$ the 90% works better but i've used the 70% and it works fine
I've used both; can't say that I've ever notice ANY difference. Literally, everywhere sells 70% & 91%. 70% is thought to be easier on the skin... 91% better for cleaning. Walmart!

Buy Ever-Clear, done. Cleans the shit out of glass or all plastics. Plus it will $%^& you up if you are into that. And in a pinch, you can make PG with it.
The alcohol is probably ‘the thing’. Yes, try soaking overnight. Try fashioning a pipe cleaner to swish around in there and scrape a little crap off. I cleaned an old bubbler out, yesterday using isopropyl and kosher salt. Everything? No. Acceptable? Yes. I’ve ne’er had the occasion to use 92% grain alcohol (like Everclear)... only 70% & 91%isopropyl. I tasted some.... once !! T’was called ‘moonshine’ in Kentucky.
For cleaning Cannabis residue the more pure the cleaning agent the better I've found. Paint department Denatured Alcohol. $15.00 per gallon 100%. Also sold as Marine Stove Fuel. Excellent cleaner. Says for glass on the label. DOH !!!! Like ISO it's toxic so don't drink it. Wash bong with hot soapy water before use. DOH !!!. BNW
90+ tastes better than the 70% stuff. In all seriousness, the higher the less water content. So it's stronger.
My bad. Thanks for clarifying. If you have the 70% solution that's better than nothing. Leaving your pipe in the solution for longer periods of time is not a problem.
