iso extractions

  1. when doing an iso extraction, after you wash, strain, filter. this will yield a liquid that is probably 95% iso and 5 % tricromes. instead of evaporating it right awa, can you use that liquid to extract again? possibly using the solvent (iso) more then once before evaporating? I use this technique when making butter or oil. it will double the concentration of the cannibanoids in the oil/butter. another idea is to put the filtered iso back into the freezer, let it settle and try and skim the iso off the top without disturbing the triremes at the bottom. then re using the iso for a second extraction. this could save time and materials if it is viable.

  2. any thoughts or ideas would be great. also, 91% vs 99%

  3. obviously 99%

  4. you could yes. but the more thc that gets into the iso solution, the more you lose when it sticks to the newer and newer buds, because you can assume you arent getting a 100% return on the volume of iso. the weed is spongy. so to be more efficient in reality you would just increase the mass of iso as you increase the mass of cannabis.

  5. MastaP has it right. If you do your second rinse with fresh ISO it will pick up more of the thc.

  6. That just blew my F'in mind.
