ISO. Best cleaner there is?

  1. Ok so after killing my space case :( I am now worried about cleaning my new Santa Cruz Shredder! I used bleach on my titanium space case and it destroyed it lol will ISO ruin the anodized metal/paint or the mesh or etc? Or is ISO good for all cleaning purposes :) or can you over use it?

  2. you shouldnt of used bleach
ISO shouldn just make the rez on your shredder alot easier to clean

  3. Yeah man bleach destroyed it lol was gutted!

  4. Anyone else help with this?

  5. Nope simple green is the best cleaner hands down. You can get it pretty much anywhere. Hardware stores, supermarkets etc. It's in the cleaning section.

  6. Will ISO not ruin it though :) how do I go about cleaning it?

  7. Iso works fine man. Instead of just soaking it though, use a q-tip and wipe it clean, then just wait for it to evaporate entirely before using with bud. Even if that doesnt work, im sure soaking it couldnt hurt either as long as you dont leave it in for multiple hours, iso doesnt really corrode metals like bleach does.

  8. I use Iso on my grinder about once a month and it's almost two years old... still looks like new....;)

  9. Good stuff! :) think am going to soak it, only because its prior to first use :) bit OCD about people touching it before I get it lol
Would soaking it not damage it at all then :) ?

    Bleach is a no-no.

Simple green can suck my dick. I don't get why people recommend it. It's some environmentally friendly light duty cleaner. It won't work NEAR as well as a solvent based cleaner, and costs more.

Isopropyl alcohol is perfectly fine to use on your grinder.

No you won't need to soak your grinder, just use the isopropyl to loosen the chunks while you wipe the threads or corners with a q-tip. (This is assuming you don't want to save the .1, and are just cleaning your grinder for better action)

Wait, your cleaning it for first use? Just a quick rinse should suffice man.

  11. Yes, alcohol is only corrosive to aluminum at high temperatures. No need to worry man.

  12. could not agree more....;)

Hey now that .1 can make a nice treat on top of a bowl...:p:smoking:

  13. Good stuff :) what about the rubber band will that be ok in a soak? :p a know this all may sound silly but after the space case getting wrecked am not taking any chances :D

  14. I would not soak that in iso... ;)

Lol I sounded like I was going out my way to soak that separately haha xD not that OCD :) just hope it can be takin off or something... Being this picky sucks... It sucks so much balls lol but if it means not screwing up another grinder then it's worth it ;)

  16. Hey better to ask than f**k up another grinder...;)
most of us don't mind these questions...

  17. Fuckin' ryt man! :D

  18. I've soaked my aluminum space case in iso and made hash out of it lol.

There's at least a bowls worth in all the lil nooks and crannies.

  19. Hell yeah Nick... I save mine...:D

  20. You don't need to soak a brand new grinder in isopropyl alcohol to get it "clean"

99.99% of the time it will be fine from the factory, especially a quality grinder like that.

The only chance of contamination may come from the first few times you thread/unthread everything, tiny shavings may fall off.

To be honest, a wash under water should be more than adequate.

I still don't understand why your being so fussy.

As for that plastic ring, it will be fine being wiped with isopropyl, I've wiped mine off a few times with no issue.

To repeat my point, you don't need to soak the whole grinder in isopropyl alcohol, that's just overkill.
