The empire is back! (The last caliphate was the Ottoman empire, ending in the early 1900's). Frankly I see this declaration as a joke, seeing as they all lack logic and unity between one another within the 'caliphate' , being motivated by religious fanaticism instead of focusing on rebuilding their infrastructure. However,that's not to say they aren't being funded by the West and the Gulf states; my view is that they are playing along with the Islamic fundamentalists and giving them weapons to achieve their own (the west, Sunni states) goals; these are uncoordinated religious nuts were talking about, I don't think they are capable of achieving an actual caliphate. I agree with this as well. The creation of a Kurdish state is one more ally for Israel; Kurds have been persecuted by Turks, Arabs and Persians for hundreds of years. There has been ongoing backdoor economic, military, and political trade between Israel and the Kurdish leadership for a while now. The Kurds have shown that they are capable of maintaining a rather stable society despite what's been going on around them.
Americans have no need to concern themselves over caliphates and death threats by Islamic extremist. Dear leader and his DNC puppet masters think that the right wing gunslingers out in Montana and Idaho along with the Tea Party in general represent the real national security threat.
