Isaac set to destroy New Orleans

  1. I haven't read anything about this yet, but from reports and articles i read earlier, this hurricane may completely wipe out New Orleans.

The Mississippi, as we all know, is low. So low in fact that saltwater is starting to travel upriver. In Plaquemines Parish, there is a water advisory because saltwater in in the freshwater supply and communities that are very close to the delta have no drinkable freshwater and will have to get bottled water until rains come back to the midwest.

Plaquemines Parish issues drinking water advisory as saltwater moves up Mississippi River | NOLA.com

In the report, you can see that the army corps of engineers are building 2 underwater levees that will block the saltwater from getting to New Orleans. It is a 6 week project that is on its second week.

And now Isaac is set to hit Mississippi as a category 2 storm. Like all other storms, it will have a storm surge and I was thinking this may push saltwater up to New Orleans which will destroy the city's freshwater supply and New Orleans will be hopeless.

This could be a huge deal and I haven't seen any reports on this yet, but i feel this may be very very bad.

  2. Where's the politics part?

How can we make this Obama's fault?

  3. We can discuss the politics behind the government's response.

  4. none of this would be happening if we just audited the FED...

(it had to be done, we have to blame the FED for everything ya know..:p)

  5. I think the government should stop immediately. Big government doesn't need to meddle is even more affairs.

Let the market decide how this pans out for New Orleans.

It stinks of hysteria in here; mainly talkin bout sam

  7. I wonder what the government will do. This also sucks for New Orleans, Katrina was only 7 years ago and now this.

we can discuss the government response to this and Katrina.

  8. good thing the concentration..ooops...I mean 'FEMA', ya, FEMA camps, are all prepped and ready for refugees.. I mean victims.

I wonder if some important goobermint type person will be there during the storm, or will they all be elsewhere, out of harms way, doing important goobermint stuff...in complete safety...

  9. Hey, if those poeple went back after the last storm then fuck them. Its like all those tards that live in Tornado alley.... YOU LIVE IN A MOTOR HOME< FUCKIN MOVE@!

  10. HAARP maybe? Oh wait, no, that's not political, more like from Pandora's Box

I'm guessing about the same way that Katrina was Bush's fault.

In that case, this tropical storm means neither does Obombya, right?

  15. The late response from the federal government was not Bush's fault and he should not be blamed for that. It was Louisiana governor Kathline Blanco's fault. Bush asked her if LA needed federal help, but the stupid bitch refused aid for a while which caused the late response.

  16. Damn, so close!

Bush was the one with glasses, right?

  17. Obama used HAARP to create a hurricane and direct it towards New Orleans.

The hurricane isn't actually headed towards New Orleans, more like Tampa, just in time for a certain convention to pick the GOP nominee no less, hmmm, you might just be onto something there though, what with Obombya's record low approval rating and all... :D

No, but seriously, what would they do if the hurricane got so bad as to make it impossible to hold the convention? I'd imagine they have another location to hold it at, although it would certainly disrupt alot of people's plans. Does anyone here know if they make a backup plan or what? And how would they get all the delegates to the new location, making sure they've got their proper lodging and whatnot, I'm sure 99% of them have reservations there in Tampa, so they'd be lucky to be able to just up and transfer that many people at the last minute like that...

  19. If China or Russia somehow obtained HAARP through using computer hacking, do you think maybe they could be using it against the americans? We'd never know it either, it'd be all secret and whatnot.
