I don't really consider it an alternative since they affect a person so differently. Being high is VERY different from being drunk (though the two together is great!)

Well marijuana is often reffered to as a safer alternative to alcohal because they can both be used at social gatherings and such. I think I saw it on the movie "totaly baked" and a few other of the pro weed movies.
The safer alternative to alcohol is non-alcoholic beverages.It's for those people who like the teast of beer and don't want to or can't get drunk
Or you could just shove a hose up your ass and turn the water on... Sorry man, but try and stay relevant here. Non-alcoholic beverages are not really part of the "alcohol vs. weed" equation. It will only be when we all start smoking "non-THC" weed (i.e. hemp rope). Have fun with that...

Weed is absolutely, without a doubt, the safer alternative. It is actually controllable. (you can sober up after a joint if you really need to, but that bottle of vodka ain't goin nowhere) I've never gotten sick from bud alone. (definitely have from bud and beer, and beer alone) And if I'm too high to drive, I know I'll be good to go in half an hour. Where as with alcohol, being under 21 really fucks you in the ass on that one.
