Is Weed A Necessity To You?

Discussion in 'Marijuana Consumption Q&A' started by stonedman, Jun 18, 2013.

  1. For me, daily use PREVENTS my migraines! :yay:

Also, at 65 years old, I have a few aches and pains that cannabis helps. :smoke:

Being an "intellectual-type", Alzheimer's scares the heck out of me! And this is what WebMD had to say about THC vs Aricept-

    Marijuana May Slow Alzheimer's      (news - 2006)
    http://www.webmd.com/alzheimers/news/20061006/marijuana-may-slow-alzheimers

“THC blocks an enzyme called acetylcholinesterase, which speeds the formation of amyloid plaque in the brains of people with Alzheimer's disease. The Alzheimer's drugs Aricept and Cognex work by blocking acetylcholinesterase. When tested at DOUBLE the concentration of THC, Aricept blocked plaque formation only 22% as well as THC, and Cognex blocked plaque formation only 7% as well as THC.”

I want to keep stimulating those CB receptors with cannabinoids to keep my brain free of any amyloid plaque! :yay:

And cannabis is safer than any pharmaceutical that the doctor would give me! :bongin:

  2. It's great for chemo and crohn's and all kinds of stuff it's also good for  ptsd and other mental conditions that alot of people don't understand.  I'm just saying I think there are some conditions that weed helps with that people don't know about.

  3. I, use it to treat my depression and anxiety. Ill be the first one to admit that im dependent on it but it makes my life bearable. When I don't smoke I have no desire for anything.

  4. I could go with out, just would have to switch to a cocktail of medications to combat everything, not to mention more meds to counteract the effects of the other meds I used to replace my erb.

  5. As others have said, I prefer to be high all day, everyday, but it's not necessary.  I can go, and have, without it.  No problem

  6. It's not necessary, but it's definitely a strong preference in my life.

I've even started to use it for some ailments I've long been using prescription drugs for, namely PMS and IBS.
With regular toking, I have a much more positive outlook on life, and I've talked to my doc about lowering my antidepressant dose and eventually get off them completely! :yay:
It's been a long 6 years, but I may not need you much longer, Prozac!

It is not a quick fix, but it works! And let me drop this bit of info on you  :D - The area of your brain controlling your depression, the hippocampus, is also the same area that controls you getting high on cannabis!  :smoking:  I suspect, that like many young people, you are NOT getting the levels of Omega 3 that you need for optimal mental health, or your optimum high! Watch your diet, too! It affects your well-being far more than you think!

  8. yeah i have pretty bad anxiety. i use it to replace pills

  9. I like this point of view. I mainly use it as a reward system when completing tasks, assignments, fix priorities and reaching goals. I also use it as a tool for introspection which means a lot to me.

  10.
Damn thats pretty low man.... life is awesome dude. no matter how bad it seems. some people have it worse :/ toke on tho

  11. For me I love life and can function 100% with out it. but I do it alot and when i shouldnt becuase it makes life even MORE awesome. so.why not?

and i get judged for that

  12. Since I've been on probation, I can prove that I'm perfectly functionable without it. I can go about my daily life without needing to bake beforehand. I could have told you that even before I went on probo. That being said, I would rather do the majority of activities during my day high as a kite, but my wallet wouldn't allow it.

I treat weed as a candy. It's good to have once, maybe twice a day, but other than that I can't get shit accomplished.

  13. pretty much a necessity for me, without it i:

suffer from gastro-esophageal reflux disorder, causing acid reflux.
suffer from acid reflux, which over time causes pain from both attacks and wounded esophageal tissue
suffer from insomnia, due to being inable to lay down during 2-4 hour long episodes of stomach cramping/burning during the night...
also suffer from pain due to temporomandibular joint disorder
    also have irritable bowel syndrome.

Yeah... so i CAN go without it.... but my diet becomes super super limited and i don't normally have much of an appetite

  14. It helps me when I get chronic migraine's and keeps my asthma in check.

  15. the whole culture that surrounds marijuana is appealing to me and i enjoy it very much. nothing like picking up a fat sack and ripping the bong after a long day. i guess its become sort of like, idk normal? some people are involved in sports or dance or other things that they enjoy doing, so much that their whole life revolves around it. being on a sports team, watching the sport on t.v, your friends play the sport, you have conversations about the sport, etc. i smoke weed, hang out and chief with my friends, wear weed related clothing, talk about weed(like i am right now) etc. its a lifestyle plain and simple not a necessity

  16. There's nothing wrong with being baked out of your mind all day, as long as you don't have anything important to do. Even then it's good to have a nice high.

In my experience I'm substantially more productive when I'm just high, and not stoned into couch lock.

I don't feel like weed is a necessity for anyone who doesn't have a medical condition, but I certainly think everyone should smoke some once in awhile.

  17. I can go on periodic t-breaks, but i cannot imagine living the rest of my life without it.

  18.
Ya tokoum I can agree with that, it almost never happens to me but right now I'm actually dry and I can't wait to get some fire og in a few hours. I feel weird not having a stacked jar readily there to toke out of. And LSD rain, which would actually be insane literally, your last sentence is pretty true when I think about it

  19. it isn't a necessity for me, but i tend to have a pretty bad temper and smoking helps me keep my cool (main reason i've always been so attracted to weed)

also, my appetite drops horrendously when i'm not smoking, but that gets back to normal after not smoking for a while.

i can function without it perfectly fine, and in some instances better, but i tend to keep my head together better when i smoke often.

  20. i have extremely high anxiety. So it helps mellow the anxiety to a proper proportion. That's why I love it so much. Plus Mario Kart is awesome high so that's a bonus
