Discussion in 'First Time Marijuana Growers' started by meninnoa, May 26, 2013.

  1. hello my last plant was a failure i dont know what i did wrong after 4 months it grew only 8 inches im starting over and i bought new soil today. I will be using Whitey Farms Organic Potting Soil which contains 0.10% Nitrogen, 0.002% ammoniacal nitrogen, 0.001/ water soluble nitrogen and 0.0097% water insoluble nitrogen 0.05% potash will any of this hurt my plant. I am then using Espoma Organic Tree-tone  which contains 6.0% Nitrogen, 0.6% ammoniacal Nitrogen, 1.8% other water souluble nitrogen, 3.6% water insoluble nitrogen, 3.0% available phosphate, 2.0% soluble potash, 0.5 magnesium. How much of this stuff should i use and also what should my PH be at.

  2. switch to espoma's tomato tome if anything....

I don't ph.... ever.... don't even own the equipment anymore, cant help you there. My soil takes care of itself.

You need some earthworm castings.... check craigslist in your area.... farm and garden section.

Whitey farms is scotts.... a monsanto brand. I assume its chock full of nutes to burn your sensitive young plants. Literally put an equal amount of worm castings as you do the monsanto soil. also go to a home brewers store and grab some rice hulls, they're about a dollar a pound. again, equal volume as the bag/ewc 1/3 of each.... that will give you a decent start while you read some more threads...

  3. oh... after you mix these 3 things... let it sit a week or 2 before you plant a seedling directly into it... use just the ewc and rice hulls for a seedling....

you don't start an infant off on T-bone steaks...

Earthworm castings are the backbone of a good organic soil.
