Is this set up good enough?

  1. Thinking about buying an tent setup;
    it's 1.2x1.2x2M tent, with 4'' fan with matching carbon filter.
    should i use passive intake?

    I would be in an 2bedroom maisonette flat, or should I buy everything separate? - Is the fan an big enough size, or would I want an 5'' fan? I was looking at an 1x1x2M tent instead, (A little smaller) with Digital ballast, HPS 600w.

    Size: 1x1x2.
    let me know you're opinions...

  2. I'd only want 4-6Plants, maybe even 2 big ones.

  3. That's not a big enough fan. I'm using 430CFM for half that space and just cutting it. I'm thinking 8", but 6" at least. Not 4".

  4. I don't know what I'm using for an 1X1X2M tent then, could you write an list' I'm wanting to use an 600W HPS Dimmable ballast. - so an 6' exhaust with carbon filter and use passive intake?

  5. Did you buy anything yet?

  6. Not yet, but I will be tomorrow (monday), i was just looking at this, but I want something I can rely on;

    Btw, tbh, I don't want anything bigger than 1x1x2, and don't want to be paying an arm and an leg for, fair enough An nice decent set up for an price, but I don't want to be going 600+ (im in uk) ya feel mi?? maybe digital too.

    -Thanks.

  7. its a nice 'deal' I suppose... but not really.

    I recommend that you order from Shenzhen Meiju Lighting Co. and grab an 800 board kit. Grab a 4x2 (foot) tent, grab a Hon&Guan 6" Inline Duct Fan Exhaust Fan rated rated at 312CFM.
    If you are set with a 3x3 tent than consider 288 or 304 boards (ask for 301B diodes).

    If you get an HPS you will need two fans. One for air transfer and one for air cooling the HPS.

    If you listen to my pricier advice you will save money in the long run big time and grow plant(s) like the one I harvested this week (attached).

  8. The whole site is in somewhat different lang, i've had to use the search bar to find stuff, that seems a little too big for my liking, like i said I've limited grow space which is roughly 1X1X2Meatres lmao, unfortunately, someone told me passive would be ok for intake, and exhaust i'd want an 5/6' fan then? am I best off just buying everything seperate?

    P.s that's an monster harvest matey.

    Searched; 800boards and they're all $250+

  9. ok, I will try to help. I know you have a budget. I also have a tight budget. If you can't afford an 800, grab a 2x288 or 2x304 kit. These are the best bang for you buck lights. If you are set with the digital ballast MH/HPS, just realize they are less efficient at transforming electricity to light and instead transform it to heat, which you will need to cool. Also 600w HPS will have difficulty keeping up with a 320W driver (~1/2) that you are almost never using 100% (currently at 30% for veg). Also, realize that you will need to replace the HPS after 6 months. Also you will not get the same canopy coverage. My 600W HPS/MH digital is stored away indefinitely. If you want to buy it, by all means. But in all honesty, the PCB lights are worth it.

    Also, I am not referring the best provider of PCB lights, but I am referring you to the one I risked to buy from and documented the experience for GC members to benefit from (here).

    This next plant I'm showing was grown in a 2x3 tent with the same fan I mentioned. You can get a cheaper fan and filter, but I am relating that the Hon&Guan fan is quieter. Did not come with a dimmer though... vivosun at least came with a dimmer. That was an iffy grow btw, not because the lights, and I expect to fill that 2x3 space properly next time.

  10. So I shouldn't use an HPS at all, you're saying also, these LED ones?
    Led Grow Light Kit 288pcs Pcb Boards 3000k 3500k Samsung Lm561c S6 Quantum Board For Greenhouse Vegetables Growth - Buy Quantum Board,Lm561c Board,Led Grow Kit Product on Alibaba.com

    Or would you just stick to normal LED UFO bulbs? like the panel's, some people debate over both but they're both great.

    Yeah, also i'm looking for an really quiet set up, i quickly read through the thread you linked also; one or two of those panel's?

    And stick to an normal size tent I'd want, and just get an 6' exhaust fan/filter?

    -That's an nice scrogg for that size tent, looks like an sea of green'

  11. You know, the HLG sale is still on here. Thats' an assured provider. The difference is the link I provided earlier is its much cheaper (and some other criticisms you can read in the thread I posted earlier). I would rather see you purchase just those lights, than that kit you linked. Don't buy anything else yet, invest later (like you don't need a filter till flowering). Coco is cheap. You should probably also follow Mick's coco methods here as they are tried and repeatable. Do you need a tent right away or can you use the closet for a while until you purchase a cheap tent on ebay or amazon?
    I would much rather that you invest your money is something you will want to have for the next few years and not have that I shoulda listened to that internet guy in a couple months time. Other people will say "in 2018 buy a quantum board".
    Note: HLG lights may not come as a complete kit and may require that you purchase other items, such as a driver. That's not the case with the first site I listed.

    If you want to buy the kit you first posted, it will work I'm sure, but when I last placed my air cooled 600W HPS in that 2x3 tent, with the fan I mentioned, the temps reached 51C within the hour. The bulb is not like the one shown in the link you posted, its got a glass shell around it to exhaust the heat.

  12. I'm trying to help here, but I'm a little drunk and having problems with google and conversions, 1 meter is about 6 feet right? Or is it about 3 feet?

  13. NVM I figured it out, it's about 3.28 feet, that's about a 4 foot by 4 foot by 6 foot tent. I've personally used a 4 inch 190 CFM fan and filter in that same setup and had little issues with it covering the area, is there something I'm missing?

  14. During the heat of the day I've noticed the tent would be a little stinky, but since I installed my 6 inch 400 something CFM fan and filter, I can't even smell it in the same room.

  15. so the whole board is the lighting system? and I'd need an tent because I'm in an 1bedroom flat atm, ground floor until I end up moving, but 1x1x2 is 1 = 3.28084feet.

    the room the tent would go in, is an large cupboard enough for the tent but noticable if the door is opened.

    - I've never grown cannabis, but I have grown other things, but not in an while.
    and i'd be running the filter ducting out of an vent in my flat (which goes into the centre of the block - which is not outside but in the centre of the block of flats).

  16. The board is the lighting system yes, but you need drivers for it.

    As far as filtering out the smell, the way I see it is more is always better. Better to have overkill than to leak the smell to your neighbors. I'd rather be safe than sorry.

    I can show you some pictures of the HLG65s versus a board that you need to wire yourself if you'd like. The HLG65s are beautiful, they are plug and play, but you definitely pay for the convenience.

  17. Wiring to me is like asking an colourblind person to pick the yellow wire out of 4 oranges. (offchance lucky).

  18. That's fair, and a lot of people are like that. I myself thought I was like that until I finally had the setup in my hands. It's not as bad as it looks on the internet.
