Hello community! The time has come. I wish to begin growing! What are your thoughts on this? Is it a fair price? The equipment from what i read looks good, i was looking for an aircooled lighting fixture too.

Would this keep a stable temp around 75F? I have read that some people have problems with these bulbs, My house is a tiny bit cold. Would LED’s produce enough heat to keep the tent warm for the girls?

  2. That should work good for you. Just vent outside and use indoor air for the intake. Wouldn’t grow more then 4 in there

    Get a quantum board kit
    Www.horticulturallightinggroup.com
    Couple hundred bucks
    6” Apollo exhaust fan 60-70$
    Clip fan 4- 15$-60$
Pulleys and cables to hang lights 15-20$
Etc you can save. Are you handy, is someone helping you, it’s not hard

Very good feedback. I am not sure what i’m looking at on the site you linked, need to read more about LED, alot of hlg kits. Few QB, actually thinking about qb for second grow if first goes fair. As it will be summer and less heat needed.

Thank you for the link, will keep it

  6. You can do better. Don’t skimp on the light. That’s your single most important investment

  7. What was on your mind? I have read that mh/hid/hps are quality grow lights

  8. I've only grown with smaller blurple Leds, never had an issue with the winter cold. That being said, the Qbs make me drool.

  9. Quantum boards. 4- qb96elite v2’s and two HLG-480H-54a drivers. About $650 and you’ll have room on the drivers to add two more qb96elites if you decide to expand

  10. A bit much for a first grow! I shall remain posted on the technology of LED. Perhaps try that in the summer when it’s warmer. Right now my house goes brr brr brr

  11. The 96 + driver in tent 10-15 degree difference in tent vs rest of house, pretty warm. What temps you have outside?

  12. well it sitting around 30 outside. Gets to be 0 sometimes in winter. Indoors typically run between 45-60

  13. “A bit much for first grow”

Get this. Odds are, you’re gonna grow just fine, and enjoy it. Continue to do it. A lot of rookies myself included have a stash of old grow junk we purchased on a whim that looking back never was necessary. Don’t buy lights and fans twice. Get the right stuff the first time.

I personally would recommend HPS/MH fixture, a 4x4 tent, with 6” fan and carbon filter. Don’t get small pots. Get some 5 gallon buckets. Make sure there’s drainage holes. Don’t skimp on the perlite in your soil mix. Get reputable seeds.

  14. What is the difference between HID/MH fixture and a HPS/MH?

  15. HID just means high intensity discharge. That’s what cmh, mh, hps, etc are

  16. Okay thank you. I have seen HID/MH kits, and then i’ve seen HPS kits. So it is just the name, bulb themselves are proficiently.

  17. HPS is the yellow flowering bulb, and MH is the white vegging bulb. These are both HID bulbs and modern ballasts will run either one just fine. So the bulbs are interchangeable
