Is this math correct? (Cannabutter)

Discussion in 'Weed Edibles' started by JKill, Aug 15, 2019.

  1. hi there!

Just wanted to double check my math/formula for MG in cannabutter

    1lbs of unsalted butter.
I Have roughly 47 Grams of bud I'll be using. so lets say 45 after I remove stems. so at 15% THC per gram thats 150mg per gram

thats 45Gx150mg = about 6750mg??? is that correct?
there is about 32 tablespoons in a 1lb of butter so that would be about 210mg per tablespoon of canna butter. is that right?

thanks so much everyone! I'll update this thread as I go through the process.

  2. Your math is correct except that you have not factored in extraction costs. You will get 100% of the 6,750 mg if you grind the cannabis finely, mix with oil, and incorporate the herb into your recipe. If you extract into oil or butter you lose 20-40% when you strain.
