Is this bud rot or is it okay to smoke?

I do not grow. I am not really sure what bud rot is. I just googled brownish/blackish bud and came across the term bud rot and this forum where people are posting pictures and asking this community about their own bud. I figured I would do the same and hope the community will help me out.

I cracked open a pretty dense bud. It was about 7 grams and could fit in your palm. It has been sitting in a jar for a while waiting it's turn to be smoked (I smoked all the smaller nuggets first). The jar was opened periodically to get bud out of it and I didn't notice anything like this on any of the other bud which is of the same type. It is only once I got to this bud and cracked it open that I noticed any discoloration to the bud. It was very noticeable too so I do not believe it was present on any of the other buds.

The discolored area does not have any particular smell. It just smells like the rest of the bud, however, being that the bud is dense it may be overpowering any smell that may be coming from the affected area. The bud and the affected area are dry, however there is inconstancy in how it breaks apart. For example, if you take the green parts and rub them in between your fingers then a powder will start to form over your fingers. When you do the same with the affected parts they crumble into clumps and leave little of anything on the fingers.

There is nothing black anywhere else on the bud other than inside the brownish areas so I assume they are related. It does look already smoked, lol. I have a follow-up question if it is rotted. Is the entire bud contaminated in the sense I shouldn't smoke any of it or can I still salvage and smoke what has not turned brown?
