I was digging my 3x3x3 holes for winter prep and the current soil is kinda like wet, clay ish, sand ish, dirt. It's got some roots in it also from I think weeds or something. I think it'll be alright since I'm filling the holes with manure for Winter, tell me your thoughts. Heres a pic As we dug deeper the dirt got heavier and a little orangey
the manure will break down and make the soil very rich in nitrogen (im pretty sure ?) i would recommend using manure, grass clippings, veggy scraps, anything food based, even animal bones or dead animals (roadkill) they are the best things to make a rick composty soil
