Yes it is you are exactly correct. Those things grow are over the place along roadsides in the south east US. The beans can be used to make the deadly poison ricin. OP do not smoke any.

yeah, but i wouldnt have known that it contained a poison, and i certainly wouldnt have looked it up on my own.

 

Ricin is very toxic one story I remember the victim was stabbed with a umbrella wile in public. The umbrella tip had ricin on it and the victim quickly died as there is no real antidote.

Another story I remember a guy was found dead in a cheap motel apparently trying to make ricin and poisoned himself.
