So at thanksgiving dinner today my aunt had a flash drive that she was giving away because she had no use for it. I got home and plugged it into my computer to see if how large it was, and then windows said it installed drivers for a usb input device, scroll or num lock (forget which) was flashing on and off, and the run menu came up. I unplugged it immediately then broke it and threw it away. I'm just wondering if anybody has had something like this and what it did. I'm guessing it couldn't do whatever it was trying to because the run menu came up, which led me to believe this was made for an older version of windows where there was an exploit that would allow it to run silently.
why would you break a perfectly good flash drive? it most likely had backup software installed on it that comes on many flashdrives now a days. you could have just formatted the thing.
"I unplugged it immediately then broke it and threw it away." Well you're definitely virus-free now that the flash drive is broken
