Is the universe primarily hostile?

  1. is the majority of intelligent life in the universe friendly, or hostile?

  2. hostile

idk what you mean by intelligent, but if you are referring to humans, lol

  3. pretend if there were 1000 earths with a different history. How many are primarily hostile like ours.

  4. I would say, that the "abilities and features" of species is what is able to counter-act the hostility they may encounter.

  5. I would say friendly. Most humanoid species are out for the betterment of the universe.

Humans are still very primal, we havent unlocked the power of unity.

  6. I would have to say more inteligent and advanced life is friendly, the ones that visit us sure are. They are peaceful and truly enlightened, enough to transend though space in the blink of an eye. Dr. Steven grier ( i think thats how you spell his last name ) is a great speaker on the subject. He goes in dept about other life and how to contact them through thought. Pretty interesting stuff. Hes on youtube.

  7. unity....

    imagine that.

unity on a worldwide scale, wouldn't anything be possible?

    Would anything be impossible?

OP I THINK ITS a hard question to answer. A good place to start imo would be to decide if you consider modern humans primarily hostile or friendly.

I think the answer to this question would be somewhere in between the 2 extremes.
Based on humans, i find it hard to believe that we will ever stop this infighting among ourselves. I imagine that another another species would be similar to us. We are th best comparison.

Herez another way to look at it. To fight, kill, attack and other acts of hostility have a place in nature. it's natural to protect ourselves and to kill for food. we evolved this way. If another species evolved like we believe we did they would have the same capacity for hostile behaviour just like we do.

  9. Indifferent.

  10. Friendly. Love is the key.

  11. As long as we are primitive in the sense of holding onto 'bad' emotions and such, we will always remain hostile...

Maybe some day far down the road we will lose the desire to kill, steal, lie, deceit..

Humans are primitive and the way we sometimes act makes me astonished that we ever left the
    stone age...

edit - As for other planets, in this infinitely expansive universe there are for sure many planets like our own, many more advanced and perhaps some less evolved then our own..

  12. there is a balance to everything

  13. So you would agree or disagree that the scales of law are completely balanced ?

  14. lol let me rephrase that, natural balance*

  15. That makes more sense haha

  16. i would probably say that's an impossible thing to decide. we can really only relate to the universe from a human perspective, according to culture. remove that and you're just the same as everything else in the universe

  17. friendly with a tendency to hostility, at times, because of hardwiring and conditioning.

  18. The universe hostile? Where would you get that idea:rolleyes: The chaos soup loves you, and the dinosaurs. And the moon. The craters were just love taps.

  19. There's no real way to know whether or not a supposed alien civilization is going to be hostile or not, and even more impossible to guess the average temperment of all possible intelligent civilizations in the universe.

All we can really base our assumption on is the only civilization we know to exist, our own, and in that case if most other intelligent civilizations arise from the same survival of the fittest, survivor takes all type evolutionary history we've had then I'd assume they would be hostile to outside unknown entities they came across just like we are.

  20. Is confused an option?
