Hey everyone, I'm getting a vapourizer and was just wondering about how much the weed smells when using one. I understand its still weed that's being heated up so there will be a smell, but how potent? As potent as smoke?
The smell from a vaporizer is more subtle than when you smoke. There is no actual smoke being produced so the acrid factor of the smell is gone. You can definitely tell immediately after a room has been vaped in. It smells "fresh" (like herb) for 20-30 minutes but the smell doesn't linger. The first few hits produce the most smelly hits. After that, the smell is more a subtle burnt popcorn type of smell, still kinda reminiscent of herb but way better than smoking.
So your saying it does smell like weed for a while but then smells like something else? Is it something you could smell from other areas of the house or just more potent in the room because it cant travel in smoke because it isn't smoke?
Yes. The first few hits smell much more like herb than the rest do. I'm thinking if you kept the door closed with some incense going or something, the smell wouldn't travel and would be masked by the incense. It's a much easier smell to cover up than smoke is.
Yeah I'm sure it is with the way that smoke lingers. Thanks for the help, it's not that it's a massive issue, just better if I don't stink the whole place out lol.
I've smoked in my room with no windows open and people walk in <5 minutes later and I was fine. It's nothing like smoke
If you get a desktop type vape the chances are it will leave a slightly noticable smell, but if you blow the hits out the window it should be okay

If you're worried about vapor smell leaving your room, i wouldn't be, i vape every day with people moving about right outside my door with no incidents. One thing you should be aware of though, if you're getting a whip, those things can stink up a room bad if you don't clean them.
If you want to be safe, just get an empty TP roll (the inside part) and fill it with some dryer sheets and blow through that. It works with smoke too but with vape, 100% no smell at all. But yea, like they said, a vape does have a smell but it's not nearly as noticeable as smoke, and doesn't travel as far either. I wouldn't think the smell would really leave the room, especially if the door is closed.
Much more subtle of a smell than if you were smoking a J. You're not burning anything when you vape, just heating it til the chemical comes out of the plant material.
Yeah I thought as much but thought it would still smell because its being heated. I'm really looking forward to getting a vape to be honest. I've quit smoking tobacco and don't really want to smoke weed incase it puts me back onto cigarettes so this is a really good alternative. I've also heard its better than smoking aswel because you can use less than you normally would and be just as if not more stoned.
The smell is stronger opening your weed container and loading the vape than the actual vapor for me. Like Jacob said use a sploof (paper towel/TP roll stuffed with 4-5 dryer sheets) and exhale through that. Your room will smell like fresh laundry instead.
IT doesn't even really smell like dank herb at all. What BCVapo said is correct, and the smell is so faint its prob not even recognizable to a non vape user
Take a toilet paper tube, stuff it with dryer sheets (ones you throw in the dryer), take one sheet of toilet paper, stick it over the end, and rubber band it into place. Blow your vape exhale through open end. The dryer sheets filter the smell.
So you're telling me that vape smells different to weed smoke and that vape can't really be identified as weed by people who dont already know the smell? Sorry is that's confusing lol.
Ok thanks alot. I actually posted another thread about a vapourizer I think I'm going to get but wanted to see what everyone here thinks about it first but not one person as responded to it lol. So does anyone have anything to say about the Herbal Aire H2.1 Vaporizer? I've seen some good reviews but seen others where people just talk about how its just not a volcano (which I can see). HAs anyone here used one or even got one? If so please tell me what you think,
