  1. if you could make it a ratio would you say its more luck or more skills/patience/intelligence? i think its 70%luck/30% skills/patience/intelligence

  2. 25 % patience skills smarts and luck

  3. ok so whats the other 75%?

  4. 50% Luck/50% skill I would say.

  5. If you mean 25% each of those, then I'd agree with that. No matter how good your poker face is, you are only as good as the hand you are holding.

I haven't had a good game of poker in an age...... I must get Best Mate into it. I love a game of stud or draw.

  6. If you're not getting decent cards there is no way to win. But if you can't win with mediocre cards then you are a terrible player. So I say it's

  7. ok guys thanks for the feedback. I apologize for such a stupid question i just got into online poker after reading about some guys "poker addiction" (ironic right?). But right now im only playing with play money at poker stars untill i get the feel of it. If i think its more skill than luck i will go for the real money on very low stakes once i feel very confident.

  8. ok its official. Poker is to a man like videogames are to a boy.

  9. I love poker, but my game was Blackjack in the Bahamas. I broke about even after 5-10 hours at the table.

  10. Yah i agree.

  11. i'd say its mostly 80% skill/smarts/ AND PATIENCE is the most key... patience... thats the part where i fail at... lol, ive got the skills and smarts to make the money... my patience just.. makes me lose it all right back evnetually.... haha :D (couple hundred in the last few days.... turned 20 into a 150, lost it all... turned another 20 into about 280.. then lost that all too... heh)

luck does play a role tho, if you make the right moves, you can still lose... unfortunetly.

poker's a sickening game... i fucking hate it.... but i fucking love it at the same time... i have an addiction... and its not to weed.... heh

its all about the ability to read your opponent, figuring out what cards he has, and how/when to bet/bluff, its also extremly important to be able to lay your hand down, im working on that too... heh.
