I have these too plants indoors..currently have 800w acutal led and a 1000hps dialed to 750w. My question is it worth hanging panda film around the sides to trap the light. I have the film but it would definitly be trickier for me to water and work on the plants with the film up. What do you think use the film or its fine? Thanks
You might get a bit more light shining onto lower popcorn buds to make them a bit bigger, but it wouldn't be worth the extra hassle to me.
huge improvement . i would but this in your situation. its 4 foot tall just move it around your plants in a circle if you will it will reflect a lot of light to the plants . this will stand up on its own . Reach Barrier 4 ft. x 50 ft. Double Reflective Insulation Air Roll with Double Bubble-DD48050 - The Home Depot now in my opinion this stuff is best for many reasons . this is what i use in ever room . i have used panda film and other brands this stuff is the very best for any set up edit this will not send or reflect light that could burn your plant like some other brands i have seen the bubbles in it break up the light no worrying about burning from reflection . trust me on this lol
Yeah man, your losing a ton of light potential by having it fade off into the darkness instead of reflecting it back to your plants.
Gave it a try today..only took 5 mins to hang the film. It is definitly harder to work in there and the osolating fan has to be alot closer to plants now..hope it isnt too windy
if you have that entire space to grow . why not wrap the entire room ? veg your plants bigger have some monster 6 foot tall plants packed with buds
If I wanted to dig around on youtube I can show you some par readings of some lighting systems inside of a tent and outside. The numbers difference is pretty dramatic across the board. At 3 minutes in the video is par readings of a qb260 v1 kit in open air. 5:30 is readings in a tent. The readings are 500 in the center and 130 in the corners. This is at 24". The same light at 24" in a tent no other changes is 620 in the center and 260 in the corner of a 3x3 area. Basically you're missing out on probably up to 25%-30% more light depending on where you measure for no electricity cost surrounding the plant with reflective material. The best performing material is mylar. You can get the mylar bubble wrap and it's a little easier to work with. White is a few percentage points behind mylar in how reflective it is. Considering how cheap panda film is yes it is completely worth it. The numbers in the corners of a 3x3 doubled so saying 25%-30% more might even be under estimated.
Thanks. That defintly is making it seem worth the hassel working around the film. Very good info to have.
I do have another room made but the ceiling height is only 7 foot 3 inchs...its too low for this grow but i think all my next grows will use this room and i wont veg as long and train them to have a more even canopy.
