Buy reputable nutrients that are Organic.

Personally, I believe the plant can only be fully organic, and fully express itself when it is growing naturally in soil, but I'm not interested in sparring with any of my hydro friends. I have love for y'all.

  3. Organic, fine. Hydro, fine. Mix the two? Good luck with that.
There is a thread on OG about this too. Suuuuuuuper skeptical. Can it made to work? Probably. Will there be any advantage? Probably not. Its like walking on your hands, sure you can do it, but prefer to walk on your feet right?
    Edit: Typo man strikes again

  6. Growing in hydroponics was around way before bottled nutrients were invented.
How could it not be organic ?

  8. The answer is no. There is no such thing as an actually organic hydro grow. It doesn't matter what those bottles say. They will have some sort of synthetic fertilizer in them.

  9. If you want to go organic, L.O.S. (Living Organic Soil) is the way.

  14. Besides aquaponics, the thing to do would be to use teas and knf homemade nutrients. That would really be the legit way to try. It would be a very different approach than just ppms and pH.
I guess the real question is what are you trying to specifically accomplish by running the organic hydro route. For the fun and challenge, or for trying to outperform organic soilless medium.
I’m sure you will learn lots of interesting stuff on the journey.
    Cheers

  18. I look at the Organic SIPs as a “sorta kinda” hydro.

    Rancho!

My mind is blown. I thought it was only suitable for leafy greens like kale and bok choy and what not.

I still have my doubts. I thought all you get from fish tanks are nitrites, nitrates, and ammonia. He mentioned the tilapia is organic, but I didn't hear him say that about the ganja. From a gushing news article I found they referred to it as, 'pesticide-free medical grade cannabis'.

Maybe their future home-kits will shine a light on it.

  20. I have seen an aquaponic system that ran through soil in smart-pots on an ebb and flow table somewhere on GC. Dude killed it.
