    what did they call orange before they found oranges


    if oranges taste taste orange how come mangoes aren't called blue? :confused:

    Well I knew that they named the plant 'orange' way before naming the color orange. I did look up a lil more, seems there was a settlement of Rome named Orange long before it was used for the plant or color, but completely unrelated to the naming of both.

    Orange settlement. Orange plant. Orange color.

    PS - Where do you find blue mangoes..

    does anyone else think that orange is such a weird word? it just doesnt look right..
