Is my stash safe to bake with?

Discussion in 'Weed Edibles' started by ThaSandoman, Apr 16, 2019.

  1. Hey guys.

So I've collecting stem and offcuts for a few months to save enough for baking edibles.
I now have enough to bake with but unfortunately I have found a bunch of these little brown beetle looking insects (see pic) inside the container.

Does anybody know what they are? And will it be safe to bake with this stuff?

  2. Honestly, I'd give it a pass. So sorry!

  3. Any particular reason why? I'm pretty sure I've smoked these things in bud before, perhaps previous bakes even had some dead ones in.

  4. I personally would give it a pass, doesn't mean I'm right or that someone wouldn't be happy to have it. I guess an edible would be my preference over smoking, and you asked about baking.

  5. Maybe those little critters are chock full of THC and protein. Decarbing would sanitize them anyway so it's a matter of how squeamish you are. I'd pass but I don't care if I'm high or not these days, it's all the same. Squish a couple and see how bad they smell, if they stink I'd leave them alone for sure.

  6. Haha I was thinking the same thing.. bit of protein! Too late for the squish test as I've put the container in the freezer now.
I think I may still use all the big stuff and sift out the bugs and kief :(
Not squimish at all, just don't want to waste my stash.
