Is my stash jar mouldy?

yep its a mold ...and yes wet/damp weed can mold up very fast ,,i chopped a stem off a plant one afternoon and left it on a window sill over night and morning thinking it would be ok but by the time i looked again at it later the next day it had that white mold from top to bottom ,,,never again i learnt my lesson ,,mac..

 

Yeah man thats mold and has to be thrown out! Bummer I know but cant smoke that itll make you sick

 

Why would you buy damp weed that isn't trimmed properly??

 

Lmao how old are you? Who buys badly trimmed weed then damp weed? You must be new to smoking..

 

Whatever it is or happened to your bud, it molded up pretty bad as you can see. Take it as a lesson learned. I think a lot of mold issues these days is the direct result of "vapor lock". Where as you air seal up some bud with too much moisture and it starts to generate molds.

 

Few problems with buying damp weed. It weighs more than it should when fully dry, so you are getting ripped on the weight/price. It isnt cured properly, wont have developed full flavours/smell. It wont smoke/vape aswell as properly dried/cured weed. Finally you shouldnt have to be drying bud you bought, it should be ready to smoke. Also the risk of it going moldy is a problm, as it is then a waste of money and can make you sick.

As bhbest said lesson learned, dont buy damp weed again, and if you do notice its damp id bring it back

 

I remember a few years back my guy at the time brought me some bud that was literally wet/moist and had no smell whatsoever. While they were pretty nice dense nuggets I had an issue about getting bud that wet and lacking any smell at all passed on it. Its a good thing cause I have had issues with mold in the past and only wish I was that vigilant every single time with him and other dudes.

 

Yeah man had same problem myself once or twice, always brought it back tho. I was sick of getting shit weed of people its one of the many reasons why I started growing my own. Can get very nice stuff most of the time but even at that its always the same stuff few strains knocking about and its over priced.
