Is my Outdoor Grease Monkey done?!!

Discussion in 'Growing Marijuana Outdoors' started by Curtapillar86, Dec 10, 2020.

  1. All my pistils are completely turned and receeded! But Im not sure if my trichomes are clear still or milky... I am yet to see amber!?? What do you think been flowering 8 weeks roughly..

  2. Looks real close. If the nugs aren’t super dense, I’d probably wait a week to see if they pack on the weight some more before the chop. Looks likes she’s still holding on to some energy.

  3. Yeah... I'm gonna wait a week er so, if I can be patient.. See if buds continue to swell any! Thanks for yer opinion!

  4. I actually have 2 of this strain one is in 5gal. Pot and other is in a smaller 1gal. Pot.. Both same age from seed! My 5gal. Plant is at least 3x the size and weight.. (Short, but really healthy lookn' and thick with lots of limbs). The smaller 1 gal. Plant is identical in maturity in every visual manner, except tonight I've noticed my first actual differences in buds between the 2! The larger girl's IS twice as fat, easily! She's more developed looking, and made up of larger individual structures and plant matter. The 1 gal. Plant has the same exact look, but more... I dunno, it's buds are consisting of many many smaller, thinner, components making up a larger, "bud". Rather than just a few thicker, visible "swollen members"..(lol. To myself) that make up the architecture of my larger plants "buds"! Squeezing the 2 different plants now, I can tell the main colas on them are exponentially different in thicknesses. ...So that tells me to look forward to an increase in time and weight, in at least the 1 gal. Buds.. But still doesn't tell me if my 5gal. Is ready to chop!!? Guess couldn't hurt to wait n see!..

  5. im curious of dry weight. Did u get a late start in the season?

  6. Oh ok small pot makes sense

  7. Doesn’t seem to have a lot of hairs on it so trichomes r ur best bet prob a 10 week strain bein it’s a hybrid n all

  8. Yes I also got a late start on both..from seeds tho..

  9. Zoom in on that last pic and tell me if the trich's are milky lookn to you guys or?.. Its my first season. Second plants this yr. That I have ever harvested ever! So... Yea.. I'm learning a ton really quickly.. I harvested a GG4.. And although also late start due to root rot and some pH issues. And a couple clones later.. I got one of my gg4 to pull through...and it was mid Oct. Harvest. Frosty as a muug! My buddies and I were impressed.. For a 1st grow too!! I'm happy overall.

  10. It used to have pistils, but like I said.... They've turned and receded. Practically gone! ...I don't own a magnification lens powerful enough to view trichomes clearly.. And I'm flat broke rn.so...

  11. This was GG4 right after chop..

  12. You need about 60x to really see what you need to. I'm in Southern California and run 4 sets per year outside as it never freezes here. 10 weeks is what almost all of my plants run in flower. If it's an 8 week plant it'll show it as it'll be very apparent it's gone past it's prime and is dying.
Yours are not that far along yet.

  14. Yeah I'm in so Cal as well... So I get it!!

  15. I'll pass along my 4 runs a year set out dates

June 1st = Harvest plants. Take cuts off vegged plants, Set out veggers in harvested holes.
    Oct 15th = Same
    Jan 1st = Same
    March 15th = Same

I've run this same cycling for about 8 years now.

  16. Ahhh.. Nice. Simple enough, but where are your veg plants coming from? In Oct. Jan. And March? You must have a mother growing indoors. Or supplement lighting in the shorter months..!?

  17. In the winter months I usually use an old garden shed with some 4 foot T5 high outputs to veg in.
This year I'm away from the grow a lot so the vegging is split between the shed when I'm in town and some CFLs over them when they are outside in the sun. Cooler outside so I can let them go longer between watering.
I can talk my Gardener into watering them when he mows once a week and I've got a couple of friends I can ask if it's hot mid week.

Nov 28 when I left the grow. We did a bit of a road trip and stayed at the mountain cabin we have. Crestline-Lake arrowhead.

One of the flowering plants taken on 16 Nov if I remember.
Off season I set out new plants in the same holes every 10 weeks
3 weeks to get rooted clones 7 more weeks to veg them in. Or 10 weeks for seed from sprout to setout.

Summer is the oddball one as I set out June 1st and rig lights in the yard to hold everything in veg through June and July..
Veg till Aug 1st and turn off the lights. Everybody flowers for 10 weeks and are done mid Oct and we go round again.
