Is Marijuana A drug?

Discussion in 'Seasoned Marijuana Users' started by MRCRONIK, Jun 9, 2013.

  1. What do you personally consider a "drug "
I personally dont consider MJ a "drug"
I consider it an herb, plant. But maybe im ignorant and it is a drug hmm. Thats why I ask though. Just wondering.

  2. I've had a ton of people tell me that and I respect the opinion, I just can't agree. I have a very liberal definition of the word drug I guess because I just define one as anything that changes your state. That's why I would even say caffeine is a drug. The thing is though, the word drug doesn't automatically mean 'bad' which seems to go way over a lot of peoples heads

  3. I see drugs as any sort of synthetically created substance meant to be abused.

Unfortunately that's not how big brother sees it.

  4. IMO, i believe the definition of drug is something that can change our physical selves when consumed. MJ definately meets that criteria, but so do a lot of things, legal or not. The problem as dankuponatime said imo is that there is such a strong emotive fear culture surrounding even the word drug. Every drug has different effects and its not fair to group them all as the same based on there legality i think.

The Simpsons sums it up best I think, in the episode midnight RX where homer tells the Flanders kids they are "getting drugs confused with DRUGSSS!!!!"

  5. You could have just looked it up, this is the definition. ---->
    \t\t\t\t
\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\tA substance that has a physiological effect when ingested or otherwise introduced into the body, in particular.
    \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t
    \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t
    \t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t
\t\t\t\t\tOf course it's a drug. People act like it doesn't make you feel good, that's the point. I'm not afraid to admit it, then again I think ALL drugs should be approached with a safety approach opposed to lock them up and throw away the key over a personal choice.

  6. yea its a drug

  7. Just asking what people think just looked it up my self it is but I still hold on to my opinion.

It impairs you're thinking and judgment. Therefore it is indeed a drug.

edit: go to search hommie. This is or should already be a thread.

  9. weed is not a drug, man, drugs, you gotta ad shit like chemicals baking soda n shit i dont know the recipie im just sayin,
weed just grows, you just happen to set it on fiahhhhh- kat williams

  10. this is why no one knows whether to call anything a drug or not. literally, everything is considered a drug if we use this definition. pizza, gatorade, air, and television are all drugs...

Water is the worst drug of them all.

Edit: Worst part is that we are all addicted to it and the primary withdrawal symptom is death.

  12. The concept of a drug is ambiguous and has no consistant definition that is commonly recognized by everybody. Defining the term 'drug' is highly subjective in it's nature and entirely left to personal discretion; although base defintions do formally exist none of them adequetly depict a true meaning as to what classifies a substance as a drug.

  13. It IS a drug and THC IS a chemical. It sure as hell isn't heroin and THC isn't toxic - but that doesn't hinder it's classification.

  14. It's a drug. It's also a medicine that isn't harmful to the body.

  15. I consider anything that affects your body chemistry a "drug", so yes, weed is a drug, so is sugar and caffeine though.

It's also a plant. Medicine. And many other things.

  16. I went to the dictionary and found some interesting things in there. For starters, drug is defined by the FDA (in the US), for any substance they want to classify it as. Then they say that it leads to addiction. So what is the difference between medicine and a drug?

  17. Oh look, this debate again....

  18. I've prob seen this question posed in a hundred different threads..search

And no matter what you want to believe, marijuana is full of  the drug THC
