  8. Unless you die.
If you die, it wasn't cannabis.

  9. Cannabis doesn't grow like that, it isn't cannabis it's a ground shrub you mistook for cannabis.

  11. Seeds are super cheap. Even at $20 a seed. Where else are you going to get a couple ounces for $20. You already want to grow so the equipment expense is going to be there even if you get free seeds. The price of seeds is a drop in the bucket

  12. I know, I'm gonna buy one regardless of the prices. A clone would cost about the same anyways. My equipment expense was pretty low, I only spent like $50 on my grow.

  13. it's not weed i got those things growing in my backyard all the time

  14. 1 seed won't hack it. What if there's problems or its just a crappy phenotype?

  15. What's a crappy phenotype? As long as it buds and grows trichomes then I'm happy. I never really thought about if there are problems, but I don't see myself killing a plant (knock on wood).

  16. bad weed, barely any buds, hermie prone plants are just some of examples of really bad phenotypes, but bad pheno types would also just be one that doesn't live up to the standards of the rest in any category.

growing weed the right way indoors is going to require a sizeable investment to start. 250~ for a light ballast and hood combo, 100-200~ for an exhaust fan and filter combo, 80-250~ for a grow tent (unless you build your own room), 80~ for an industrial fan that wont shit the bed in a few cycles, 200-400~ for air conditioning and/or heating, 50~ for nutrients, 50~ for grow medium. Then of course there is the cost of the electricity.

After you get all that, seeds are basically nothing in terms of expense. If you do it right you shouldn't have to buy many seeds at all, you can grow the same strain over and over if you clone it. 1 seed can make 1000 clones if you wanted.

of course you could half ass the equipment and use CFL, or a micro grow rerigged from another device, miracle grow soil and the nutrients you found at walmart gardening dept., but it will be the difference between maybe getting a plant to survive and get .5-1 oz from your whole grow (which could take 3+ months, longer without proper enviornment) or getting 4-8 ounces per plant every 2 months once you dial your setup in.

you can grow however you want but also be realistic in your expectations

edit: sorry for the rambling and I hope I didn't come across as accusatory.

here's an example of a bad phenotype though 4 weeks into 12/12 and this is what is growing:

  17. Strains have different phenotypes. Just because you purchase a specific strain with certain traits doesn't mean tgats what you'll get. Some killer stains can have a bad pheno that may appear, low yeilders, low THC, bad taste, could be anything. Not very many strains are completely stable.

There's lots of new growers who think they won't kill or mess up their plants....right before they kill or fk up their plants. The forums are full of failed 1st grows.
