Is it un-manly to cry?

  1. Lol, didn't I say go ahead and cry about the death of a loved one? I just said I don't do it. When my grandparents died in their car accident, I wanted to break down and cry in front of 500 at the funeral...
But I did what was better for my family and I stayed strong to help them learn to cope with death. I had to learn it, that was their turn. I never said don't cry, you simply need to reevaluate your response to my post. There is no sense in hitting reply if it has nothing to do with MY post. Nothing condescending, just pointing out some flaws in your replying process and hopefully saving us both time in the future. After all, wasted time is better spent smoking weed.

    :hello:

  2. There are very few times when it is okay for MEN to cry.

Mental pain makes me cry and hurt more then phsycial ever would.

  4. I'm sorry, I didn't realize we had to run it by you and gain your acceptance.

And the poster above, I fully agree, emotional pain hurts a shit ton more than physical pain ever could.

  8. I'm a girl, and I used to believe it made me weak to cry. When I was a kid, I got in trouble for showing emotions and basically was always forced to act like things were "okay". As I've gotten older I realized its really unhealthy to hold in all that hurt, anger, and sadness. Now if I'm upset, ill go in my room and let it all out. Occasionlly, I let my boyfriend hold me...but I wouldn't want to cry in front of anyone else except my grandmother or dad lol. As far as men crying, I see nothing wrong with it. I've only seen a few guys cry however. I've seen my dad cry, at a funeral or when he was really afraid for me when I was younger. I've seen my boyfriend cry once, it was like a few tears, I wiped them away...and he sucked his emotions back in almost immediatly. I think its unfortunate that we have expectations pushed on us soley because of our genders. Especially when it comes to being in a relationship. I know my boyfriend feels he needs to protect me, and take care of me. But sometimes id like to help him.

  9. I've only seen my dad cry once. And I'm pretty sure my eyes would have gone permanantly blind from witnessing such a thing, except for the fact I'm related to him. He makes the Dos Equis beer guy look like a bitch. In fact, he trained his mountain lion.

I think at a certain point it should only be for really serious things, and not like "Oh my wife just left me." type of stuff. Like if a guy has a wife and kids he probably shouldn't cry for minor BS in front of them, because the only time I'm truely worried is when my dad is, so if hes freaking out then the shit has hit the fan.

  10. Air-bud gets me a little. When he's yelling at the dog to get lost, breaks my heart.

  11. If it isn't about family, crying is for chumps.

  12. Air-Bud is the only movie I have ever seen that has made me cry. Idk why..

But there is nothing wrong with crying...I mean if you have a good reason.

  13. Nah I have.

Marly and Me didn't make me cry either....

  14. Schindler's List had me crying like a baby. I straight up had to pause it during a couple scenes.

  15. i've seen tons of movies that are more sad than Air Bud

The manliest guy I know told me that the first time he took LSD, he teared up listening to this song. And I would too... its a hell of an electrical compilation. He said the emotions were just too much, proving once and for all that even the manliest of men are sensitive sometimes.

  18. Crying is a basic part of being a human. Do people really care if someone will think you aren't "manly" because of it?

    This shouldn't even be question...

  19. It depends on why the dude is crying. If it's something related to relationships or family then that's fine. Crying over stupid things like getting pulled over, feelings hurt for whatever reason then that's a straight up biatch.
The times my husband cried were for things worth crying over and it made me love him even more for showing me who emotional side.
