I bought some white widow seeds about a year ago, a 10 pack to be exact. I planted 8 of them and put 2 in the fridge. Its been a year since these 2 seeds have been in the fridge so i decided to start one in the exact same environment that i grew in last year. The only difference is that its growing ALOT slower than it did when the seeds were fresh. Does a plant mature slower when the seed is stored for a long period of time?!
Sorry I have no answer for you. I actually want to add to your question and ask if storing seeds in the freezer is an ok thing to do? And how long will it take to start getting bad in there? Hope you don't mind man, didn't want to take up more room than I had to.
Freezers are perfect to put seeds in, Unless they werent perfectly sealed and got freezer burn. I guaratee the problem is something u r overlooking. Maybe u saved some lame looking seeds because u were excited to get the beauty ones going. Maybe ur ferts are old and have gone bad? Maybe ur bulb is old? Ps White Widow is one of my fave strains. Takes too long but is well worth it.
Ok, to germinate seeds, I use a diluted concotion of water and nitrozyme. I have had this nitrozyme for a year now. Is the stuff bad?! And secondly, I chose 8 random seeds when i grew last year. So its not like the remaining last 2 were the worst ones of the batch. Your probably right. Maybe the ferts... How can old ferts effect a plant though? Isn't a fertilizer like Nitrozyme just have organic sea algae so it would always be beneficial to the plant? I don't know much so correct me if im wrong. Thanks GC. P.s. my 400 MH bulb is old. I've had it on an 18/6 schedule for about 7 weeks in total. I don't see why I should shed the money for a new bulb tho when im only growing a mother under a 400 watt MH. The lumen depreciated bulb should still offer enough for a single plant to grow, shouldn't it? P.s.s - Growth is lagged by 2 days or so from my last grow but other than that, its basically on schedule. Im on day 8 since the roots sprouted and its got its baby leaves and is starting to grow the first rigid set of leaves. No taller than 3/4" Let me kno ur INPUT!!!!
In my oppinion, and as a grower for now five years with multiple harvest seasons PER year Its all about the environment you are growing in. This is just me talking here but if you got a small area and a big plant - the buds are gonna be small too. Buddy im going to suggest LSTing them as soon as they get there 3rd set of leaves and are heading towards the 4th. Not only will this bush out your plants at a very early age - its going to keep them nice and compact, making it easier to get the maximum light you possibly can to your buds. I'll show you what I mean in one minute - im gonna upload you a few pictures of my previous grow. (at a young age)
I literally raised the light 2 feet upward to stretch the stems so I could start LSTing early. (Day 6) Three weeks later, I stopped LSTing it and started working on vertical growth.(Day 27) I loved my little dope plants When she was big lol
That is what less than 100 (approximate) watts of just CFL's can do for you. I'm not sure if this helped but It sure was fun walking down memory lane. Hope yall enjoyed the pics
OK LET ME CLARIFY: iM GROWING A MOTHER SO I CAN RAPE IT OF ITS GENETICS AND CLONE THE SHIT OUTTA IT. i DONT CARE THE MOTHERS POTENTIAL OF GROWING BUDS, I JUST WANT TO BE ABLE TO GET a fucking ASSLOAD OF CLONES EVERY 3 WEEKS. sOMETHING ON THE ORDER OF 25 EVERY 3 WEEKS. im USING: 1 YEAR OLD NITROZYME A USED MH 400 WATT BULB NO PERLITE IN MY FOOXFARMS OCEAN FOREST.
