Is it true?

  1. Last night at work, I read on gc but another board, that if you use tap water then it's not "organic"!

    IS THIS TRUE?

  2. We are on a well, so our water is just water with whatever nature puts in it.

  3. The USDA's NOP (National Organic Program) published this bulletin that addresses chlorine use in organic food production. The maximum chlorine allowed in municipal water supplies is 4ppm which is set by the EPA and the FDA.

Most cannabis growers here (from what I've seen anyway) set out buckets of their chlorinated tap water for 24 hours to let the chlorine off gas. If your tap water is chlorinated and you let it off gas, it becomes a non-issue.

I use tap water and consider my grow 100% organic. There is only so much we can reasonably do. If tap water makes a grow not organic, then what next? Will people growing in high smog areas not count as organic either? And what about people with artificial lights? I think you get my point....

Edit: I personally only buy jugs of 100% USDA OMRI MOFGA CERTIFIED ORGANIC WETTING AGENT SOLUTION sold by Advanced Botanicare General Fox Organics.

The shipping costs suck but hey - at least I'm organic...
