ok so iv read somwhere that with a rondom bag of seeds either bought or given by someone that no matter what gender the plant may be, you can make it female by covering a lower branch during vegitative growth ??? or flowering stage ??? and i though that all mj plants are dioecious so how does cloning a female plant give better results ? also why does buying feminized seeds improve chances of not getting male ? to my understanding, when males are present at flowering stage, all you have to do is cut them balls off. am i correct or is there something else i havent read about ? tell me what i dont know about feminized seeds cause im missin out on somthing. also what results come about when planting this feminized seed ? is it true though, that you can cover one lower branch of plant to prevent MORE males to grow on upper branches ? i cant find where i read this but this one stuck with me. all other guides seems to say "cut off males ..." but this other one said, during its flowering stage, cover one of the bottom branches with a dark black paper bad so that NO light can seep through and continue to grow the plant as if no bad were there. does this make sense ? i think ill work ! any thoughts you guys ?
i kind of got lost with all the different topics and questions. but here's a method for easy fem seeds. before germing your seeds put a birth control pill in 1.5 liters of water and let it dissolve, then soak the seeds in the bottle for a day. the next day germ the seeds however you germ them and use the water to water them. i've only grown a few plants in my short growing time but all have been female and i've used this method every time.
Sex of the plant is predetermined, so no, covering the lower branches is stupid as fuck. Plants need light. Taking a clone from a female plant guarantees a female with the exact same genetics as the mother. When you start flowering, the plants will show their sexes, usually male showing first. Now if you don't want any seeds in your crop, CHOP ALL MALES DOWN IMMEDIALTY. The males are the ones with the "balls". Also, i've never heard of Emagdnim13's way of using the birth control pill to start the germ.

feminized seeds if im right... is a hermaphrodite fertilizing a female and since its half female with a female it guarantees or atleast makes the chances alot higher for a female
first off, you can't make a male or female, it is what it is, which is defined by genetics. but you can stress it out causing a hermi. if you buy feminized seeds that means you'll get a female. you can cut the balls off males all you want but it will still be a male. you can convert plan sex's. when you plant a feminized seed, you get a female, it's simple. your ideas won't work what they mean but cutting males is you kill them, cut them out of your garden becasue unless you want pollen they're useless. i don't think you get the concept of the plant. cannabis plants are the same as people, there's different races (strains) and different genders, which is all determined by genetics. hopefully that answers most of your questions

ok so according to that site that lessismore provided for me, says that males produce pollen and seed along with bud, but with low THC. where as the female grow trichomes the "small hairs" to be pollinated while producing seeds and lots of buds. it also mensions trying to preven the hermi plants because its bad for the jm gene pool. < meaning there are genetically modified dioecious mj plants out there. BUT !!! beyond all of these mj plant ... the female can grow as its own plant with out any males, and produce MORE THC and MORE buds when flowering ! oh shit ! im all clear now ! thanks all for your support on our one and only ...
Males simply cannot develop female organs. Females however are capable fo producing male pollen sacs if it becomes stressed with the intention of ensuring pollination. Males do not produce buds, only flowers. THC production is very low in males and occurs only on the leaves and stalk of the plant, NO BUDS are produced. Cannabis is not asexual, that's like suggesting humans are asexual. What do you mean if "all males are cut off and it's a male plant"? Do you mean what happens if all pollen sacs are cut off? It just means it's a male with no pollen sacs.
Sex is predetermined, ask any supplier of feminised seeds. There are DOZENS of old wives´tales about how to make your plant female. They are ALL BULLSHIT.

Ok, males do not bud in the sense of forming buds, they form clusters of pollen sacks, which can look like buds. These clusters only contain pollen sacks and if the male has matured to the point of having large clusters of sacks, it is often too late and any females in group will be already fertilized and form some seed. Hermies can destroy a good crop just as males can. When I was growing primarily outdoors, hermies would often get mistaken as female due to my lack of experience. I would end up w/ seed bud...same as if I left the males in. When you grow female plants, they are stronger and the buds more dense b/c she can concentrate more of her resources and energy to forming the buds. Just keep reading and learn all you can. There is so much out there on the subject and we have breeders working on developing stronger and more potent females.
