is it safe to use CLR on a pipe

    i have a metal pipe and if it gets rust on it can i use clr to get it off and will it still be safe to smoke out of

    Hmm well as long as you really rinsed it good afterwards. CLR is just an acidic compund but I have seen it do serious damage to metal too. I would probably just sand the rust off if I was you to be safe.

    Like he said, well id maybe use a combination, let it soak in some CRL then sand a little bit but Id make sure I rinsed that shit good, maybe even putting it in some iso afterward and rinsing. just to be safe I would, no sense taking chances.

    why not? if you want to.
    since it isn't glass you don't have to worry about it shattering.
