Is it possible to grow in my room without people in my house knowing about it? I mean my moms lenient about me doing whatever i want because im grown and what not but i was considering saving money and trying to grow in my room. I'm trying to do the same, biggest problem is sound. If someone walks in the room at night for some reason when everything is quiet, they're going to wonder why there is a fan running in your cupboard, so even if it's locked they'll all questions, a pc grow can get around that so can an aquarium on top of or right next to your grow Sent from my GT-I9505 using Grasscity Forum mobile app
I have a few small grows in speaker boxes..they're very silent. It takes a little bit of building...but most materials and stuff can be found cheap at thrift stores. I like the idea of a pair of speaker boxes, one for veg, one for flower. Great suggestion about the aquarium...having something like a fishtank in the room that constantly puts out a little sound makes everything a little easier. It also can also help explain weird water useage and such

Smell would be my #1 concern. I've found that without a real system to neutralize the odor, even one plant puts out too much smell to stay completely stealth in a house with other people in it. ONA would work to some degree, but then you would have to explain the ONA smell (which I happen to like, but it still smells very strong).
About smell. I read a post awhile back where the person explained how to make a filter for a drying box. I will try to sum it up for you. And if I can find the article again I will edit to give credit. Basically you need: A furnace filter Activated charcoal Eggcrate (white 1/4" grid) Take the egg crate and cut it to the desired shape. Next take the furnace filter and cut 2 pieces the size of your eggcrate. Push 1 piece onto 1 side of the eggcrate. On the other side pour in some activated charcoal and then push the other filter piece over that. Basically you have a sandwhich. You may need zip ties or something to keep it together. Depending on the size of filter you make 1 piece of eggcrate and 1 furnace filter will allow you to make multiple filters. For storage just cut them all to the size you need and set them in a box. When needed just add the charcoal and your good to go. To use it you just attach it to your grow box with pc fans blowing out through it. With a 1 plant micro grow it should cover the smell.
Or you can go the expensive route but very quiet and no smell. Grow tent (very thick material) Venting Inline fan (vortex preferably) Carbon filter Fan controller ( to lower speed and sound) Supposedly you can be in the same room as the grow tent and still not smell a thing with like 4 plants in it. It can get expensive though. I'm already at almost $1k Let's Smoke About It....
