I know that it wouldn't be as effective as flowering with a HPS, but I was wondering if I could flower plants with fluros? Still keeping the whole 12/12 light schedule, but just with fluros, and still have an ok flower period?
You can flower with fluoro's yes. Your yield will be less as a result, however. I found some "medical use" fluoro tubes I have wanted to try a grow with, but at $15 a pop it's almost as cost effective to go with an hps or metal halide/hps combo. Like I said, use as many of those 48" fluoro fixtures as you can fit in your box without burning up your plants. Use all blue tubes for veg and swap most out for redder tones for flower. There is a wide variety of tube colors, wattages and lumens, compare them. Gg
