Is it possible to dry a harvest too fast?

  1. Say I could get the moisture content in my bud to a desirable level in 7 days - will proper curing chemistry still take place during storage or am I missing out by not extending the dry?

  2. I think it's the slow dry that preserves the terps
Idk. Would be neat to know if you could dry fast down to like 60% in two days. Then cure for a couple months at that

  3. The dry is the most important part of the grow - Hands down.
I've seen top shelf buds ruined by over drying / drying too fast.
    Do not rush this step.
If you want a longer dry.. hang the whole plant
    Keep temps 16 - 18 degrees with 60 - 65% humidity
Should take around 7 - 10 days minimum.
You will keep all the nice smells and taste this way (terps & cannaboids)
Then into jars for the cure
    Good luck

  4. Thanks for the detail.
I've had mold growth around 65% humidity. And I find it hard to keep it consistent. My room fluctuates between 50 - 65%.

Is my humidity reader just bad? Should I try to keep it 50-60% in favour of preventing mold?

  5. Yes it most definetly is. Bud thats dried too fast can be harsh

  7. I often grow in way higher humidity. I used to fight it all the time but i learned when the humidity is high keep the circulation up. I add fans above and below the canopy and never have mold issues. Plants do very well in high humidity as long as that airflow keeps moving.
