I have a bucket of bottled water that I use to water my plants around 1l the plant is still a seedling so i only give a little of water every other day to keep the soil moist. From the bottle the PH is around 7.6, when i PH down i bring it to 6.5. The next time i water, i notice the PH has risen back to 7.3 or so, is this normal ? Do i need to stay PHing it back down ? It only takes a drop or two to bring the PH down to 6.5 from fresh water from the bottle, is this normal for such a small amount of PH down or am I doing something wrong ?
Yep, it’s normal. Chemical reactions don’t reach equilibrium immediately, sometimes the solution continues to change over time.
So is it ok if I pH down the water to 6.5 and water immediately or should I wait and check the water after a few hours before I water with it ?
Probably best to keep pH-ing down until it stabilizes. That stable pH is your “true” pH, that’s what your plants will see in the end.
