It's actually quite easy for states to go against federal law. You must be new here. How many states have medical marijuana laws? How many states have already passed legislation to block parts of the latest health care bill? And yea, that crap that you littered the quote with is not worth responding to. I don't need to justify myself to people who think its ok to use force to achieve an end.
Hey guys... We all do remember all of the shit that was waiting for him? and how a lot of people were bitching for public healthcare, or to withdraw from iraq, or to attack the taliban (afghanistan) and when this shit starts happening most of you change sides... I don't agree with Obama but that doesn't mean I can't respect him
Don't bother.... I feel your pain! Oh repealing a bill ain't that easy sport!
No, but defunding it is quite easy.
To be fair, that wasn't entirely his fault. The proposals before the private insurance lobbyists and their congressional stooges sunk their teeth into it was far less amenable to their interests.
Its not directly the Presidents job to change our economy and society, if you want to see progress you can become more intelligent (communative) and accepting of our role as humans and our ability potential. The President Obama is a great representative who is focusing on higher level of authority plans including nuclear arms and war as well as foreign relationships. The honest changes that he could make are most likely disdained, such changes include eliminating regulations in our economic political system to allow for a fairer playing field. Large scale changes cannot be made immediately, and require a lot of agreements made by officials all accross the world, and within our own nation, changes are made slowly over time, and for President Obama to participate in those changes, it will be required that he waits. If you want to see a great change, you're going to have to overcome your social armadas and stigmiticms, and be able to promote an act such as The Distrobution of Wealth. Of course you won't be taken seriously by anyone, because the idea would immediately be subject to grief as soon as you bring it up, but the idea is to transfer the greatest amounts of wealth owned by corperations and rich individuals to the poorer and lower class people through the use of tax redistrobution. It is a difficult to task to bring about, and instead you will continue to see trillions of dollars spent annually over our heads on war funds and superfluos advancements made in industries and advertisements without any attempts to provide for all people and, but it is a pleasant thought to have, and it would be good to share with other people. Especially without any tense of negativity, carelessness or impossibility. Personally the opportunities that the government can provide by expanding job databases does not benefit me at all, I prefer to work based on trust and honestly with a sense of community and awareness towards fellow beings, so that we can all be responsible for taking care of each other. In reality, we need to rest for the benefit of our selves. Though it isn't obvious, we are fighting a war against laziness, and choosing to keep most people occupied every day just to support themselves.
He could've vetoed the bill. Yea, yea, yea, he didn't write the bill, but as the president, he's going to take criticism for shit he puts his name on. Yea, the idea is to take wealth (property) by force from certain people and give it to other people. I understand how taxation works. You seem to think that the money will go mostly to the poor, but you forget who runs the US government and how people get elected. There's a difference between sharing and stealing. Surely, you know the difference. Are taxes given voluntarily or are they taken under threat of force?
well thats a trickey one right thar. the argument can be, and often is made, that by choosing to live in a country you are voluntarily subjecting yourself to their laws, rules, and regulations.....the motherfucker about the whole shit is that there is no alternative left. in the old days if you didn't like the rules you could always pick up and move to a new area, exterminate the indigenous people and set up shop. getting harder to do these days, the long arm of the law is.....long
Those people must not know what voluntarily means. I never accepted/consented to their laws, statutes, rules and regulations. Simply living within the United States does not mean I signed any contract with the government. Social contract theory is a load of horseshit that implies that you can consent before you're even born.
oh i get it....and it is crabshit...but it is the way it is. fight it for sure, but win...unlikely (refer to my sig)
i think after obama has been out of office for a few years, we will look at the present time (in the future) and rank Obama in the top 5 most successful presidents. imo, his bills just need time, but many people expect change now...which is understandable.
And how long did it take for states to block parts of the health care bill? Nitpicking is fun, ain't it?
EXCELLENT point! You can defund anything if you can control. But then you are shutting off funding for things people are starting to WANT. The clock ticks and it's the REPUBLICAN party standing in the way of kids getting insurance and kids start dying without insurance. Then people start noticing hey they DEFUNDED this why? As people start LEARNING about the THINGS in the bill that is GOOD for them. Then it's all back to the party of NO NO NO. Then you get to 2012 and HOPEFULLY we are still in a crappy economy because Obama will win if it's growing again. And who's going to run PALIN? Her negatives are VERY HIGH. Romney? A mormon? Then the TEA PARTY? Who are they going to support? You might see them revolt as the GOP kicks them to the side after they have served their purpose. So you COULD see a three or even a four way race in 2012! How about Obama, Bloomberg, Palin, and some "actual Republican" (your choice). Actually I doubt Bloomberg will get in unless he feels theres a damn good chance he can win. That's what I've been hearing. So a threeway race with 2 conservatives and one Democrat....Obama crushes them. Tell you what. I'm really surprised to find so many conservatives on this board. But heck it's free country.
I just have to lol at anyone that thinks things will change with either a Republican or Democract in office. They are both the same party, the corporation funded party. Ron Paul Libertarianism ftw cause.... 1. End the war on drugs 2. End the war in the middle east 3. End the failed/bankrupt programs of medicare/medicaid/social security/welfare 4. Cut taxes and provide a balanced government budget by ending all of the completely useless and determential programs/policies listed above With current Republican/Democrat policies we're just headed for the same path as Rome. I hope the country sticks around as long as I'm alive but I doubt it will unless some drastic changes are made. I mean fuck our debt is like what? 12 trillion dollars? Oh wait it's 13.5 trillion now my bad. http://www.usdebtclock.org/
Alright, then I will. I don't like censorship anyway. Stigs if I'm out of line stop me =) I haven't replied to you yet but I'll give you a little background so you don't think I'm just some ogre who wants people to die because I'm nice and secure. I'm 25 years old, I have asthma, bad knees, bad back, haven't felt my toes in 4 years, I have to watch when I exercise because I will re-fracture stress fractures in both my shins and in the bones in my feet. I have no medical insurance. Most of those problems came from my military service, but is undocumented and unprovable so I am on my own. I choose to not have Health Insurance right now. I make less than 20k a year, I am a full time student, I receive a puny GI Bill and I am not applicable for any VA hospital benefits. However, if I wanted to I could afford it. But I prefer instead to smoke marijuana, to smoke cigarettes, to go out drinking and the buy organic food. I reject that my right to not have insurance and instead enjoy all of those things is being taken away because other people feel it is their right to goto a doctor. Why is my freedom being infringed upon to suit you? Further, what makes your idea of what a right should be any better than what my idea of what rights should be? We have no authority over each other, so why so are people in favor of this bill so quick to say that because I don't love my fellow man as much as I love the freedom of my fellow man so quick to give up my rights? I reject this line of thought as a form of slavery. If you and people like you believe Health Care is a right then you are the people who should set up on your own a system that provides health care to whomever you choose - don't force me to play in your sandbox because I like my own more. If you want to goto a doctor - goto a doctor. I know first hand that hospitals will work with you, form payment plans. Hospitals receive tons of money to pay for people who cannot afford treatments. Also, if you have any form of promise to society at all you will have no problem going to a bank and getting a personal loan. Again, I'm 25 years old I have a credit score around 800. If you are not a shit bag of society the options exist for you to take care of yourself if you need it. And if someone thinks it's cold to turn my back on the people who dropped out of high school and beat me up and took my lunch money . . . well screw those people. I can show you millions of people who would kill to come to this country and work for pennies without health insurance. I want people who contribute and better my society, not someone who is going to leech and take away my freedoms. And on a final note. I am already exhausting on these silly ideas that uniform rules will somehow suit people who aren't uniform. We could legislate that everyone deserves a pair of shoes as a basic human right but how good is it if we only issue one size pair of shoes? This is a harmful and unnecessary practice and I don't understand why people are so quick to subscribe to this.
As it stands NOW sport, this bill will most likely go into effect. They will FORCE people like you who want to slide by without coverage to fess up and carry some insurance and allow people like me who want insurance and are WILLING TO PAY THE COST to BUY IT! Enjoy the health benefits they will force you to carry!
