Or are these "Jesus camps" one of the more disturbing things you've seen? Regardless of your religious affiliation, this indoctrination into the extreme religious sects is just wrong. Look at these kids, they just spew religious dogma without any emotion or thought. That's just sad. Whatever happened to free thought, or at least making a convincing argument why your faith should be followed. Don't threaten the kids to make them follow you, for crying out loud.

    EDIT:
This is apparently the highlights of a 2006 documentary, called "Jesus Camp," if you are interested.

  2. Despite me believing in God or Jesus, this just seems wrong. I'm somewhat glad I was never put into a christian school or was forced to attend church at a young age but went on my own in highschool. From there I was able to choose what to believes based on what felt right to me.

God gives us a choice to follow him or not. This doesn't seem like much of a choice.

  3. Warlocks are enemies of god hahahaahah! They really just pull this shit out of their ass and don't even realize it.

I'm ashamed to say I was raised in an environment like this.

  4. Original Sin?

  5. I have a few family members on my moms side that are like that video (not slightly, like exactly). It is much scarier in person. The town they live in is a dying logging town, and everyone there is very depressed and uneducated.

Therese nothing else to grab on to out there BUT fanatic religion.

  6. Each man should make the choice for himself. (Or herself) Because you have to live with it.

  7. That's a good point. What I want to know is at what point does religion become a crutch rather than a solace? I'd argue the time spent thumping the bibles would be better spent on the economic front, like starting businesses or getting an education. I mean, why spend it worrying about the afterlife when you could better the now, so to speak?

  8. hmm

There are a few different ways to go... Some research the mechanics of the emotional body. Some just know... Some read it off the page and know... They'll all get to the same place in the very end... I've heard someone say, "She said it's a question, 'Do you want to be one with eternity?" Do you want to maintain your conscious individuality (not necessarily exclusive to feeling you are also ...)? So I think that if you truly will to continue your existence, it can be done, so long as you have the means... And you will have the means, if you are wary of Life.

    That's pretty speculative though.

In other words, limits may not be real.

  9. There is a certain point of ignorance, where "X would be better than this" just doesn't arise in a person's mind.

  10. Damn, you just can't get away from indoctrination...

  14. wow, i didn't think religion could piss me off any more than it already does. i have no problem with people following a religion, in fact for some people religion IS the best path in life. however... shit like this makes me want to go burn down every damn church in the country. jesus christ, at least spare the children.

  15. I wouldn't say religion, I'd say the people teaching. Besides, they aren't the only people to mess up childrens minds. As maxrule has shown.
