Is it easy to manage the smell?

    Thinking about turning my cabinet into a grow box (which will go into a closet). The only thing I am worried about is the smell. I often have friends/family crash at my place and while they won't go into my closet...I don't want them to know that I am growing. So how hard is it to keep the smell locked in the box or at least a closet?

    Any advice is appreciated.

    I don't have first hand experience. but from what i've read. its super easy

    first point. The weed(depending on strain) will start to stink around the 2nd week of flowering.

    But there are a tonne of DIY Carbon filters on here. make sure to build a fan and filter setup before you start growing.

    You don't want to be constructing on your grow box half way through the grow.

    How big is your cabinet?

    If its bigger there is a coffer container DIY Carbon filter
    of
    If its smaller there is a few different smaller DIY carbon filters.


    You should have 2 exhaust fans and one intake fan , hook up a carbon filter to each exhaust fan so all the air leaving the box is filtered.

    You should at LEAST have 1 intake and one exhaust.

    The reason for the extra exhaust is cause if you can pull more air out than you can pull in, it brings CO2 in the box, which the plants like

    thanks, my cabinet is 35 inches in height (only need 1 plant) also do you think an exhaust like this would work:

    yeah man. As long as its 80 CFM or more.

    I'll probably be picking one of these up today as well. Maybe 2 if i can find them cheap enough

    couldnt you also do 1 exhaust fan and 2 holes in the box that would just act as a passive intake?

    the air the exhaust fan is pulling out should draw enough air in, right?

    i have a small 10 dollar pc fan and with my carbon filter i cant feel anything on the outside. i think its very restrictive, but hopefully it works

    I'd definitely second a decent plant choice. My first grow was an 8 ball kush and that shit stunk to high heaven, you could smell it all over the place when it was flowering ONA didn't touch the smell.

    Also most PC fans are crap for carbon filters, they may just about pull air through the filter but I found were unable to deal with removing excess heat from the cab.
