So I cut and hung two plants 6 days ago. They’ve been hanging in the grow tent with an exhaust fan on low and an oscillating fan that’s not directly on them. Humidity has ranged from 30-61% with an average of 49. I tried to bend some of the branches to see if they’d snap off. One did, but all the rest are still not breaking off. From what I’ve read, that means it’s not time. But the thing is, they look dry as hell. The buds feel dry but sticky. The sugar leaves actually crumble in my fingers. Time to trim and cure or should I keep waiting?
No do not wait . The smaller buds will be dry. Bigger not . So grind the smaller ones now and enjoy it . And keep in mind if you wait longer to let it dry it will be much smoother on the lungs .
That is total bullshit. Do NOT go by the "branch snap" to determine proper dryness. When the sugar leaves easily break off the buds is typically when the moisture content is where you want it for curing, however there are variables. For future grows, humidity control during the drying process is critical (temp also). For me, 70 degrees, 62% humidity, 7 days, usually ready to trim by then.
Yea, the temperature was ok but the humidity just plummeted sometimes. If the sugar leaves coming off easily is the tell, they’re def dry enough. I just hope they’re not too dry
All depends on the amount of time the humidity was too low. I forgot to mention, if you are drying in a tent with the exhaust running, you don't need the oscillating fan.
If the buds are to dry you can get some little humidity packs for the jars to bring em back. Get the 58%-62% packs. I personally don't like keeping the packs in the jars long term. I'll keep them in for 2-3 days until the buds are where I like them and I remove them after and seal up the jars. Sent from my LM-X420 using Grasscity Forum mobile app
