Is ethanol a better solvent than oil?

    I can't decide whether to just infuse my bud in oil, or make FECO.

    Make FECO, then add to the amount of oil you want. Best of both worlds. The alcohol is the better solvent. Good luck. Let us know what you do, please, to help the next stoner.

    Direct oil works just as well IME and is a lot cheaper and easier to knock out.
    Decarb 1 gram bud 240 F for 40 minutes
    Grind to dust
    Mix with enough butter to make paste
    Heat paste 220 F for 20 minutes
    A rice grain blob is a good start.

    yes alcohol is a better solvent for this purpose than oil imo. both have pro's/cons OIL pro's: taste, price CONS: can't be reduced/concentrated, takes longer to feel it cuz it has to be digested. butter for me takes longer to feel it than coconut oil. decide what you want then try them both? have fun.
