I'm new to organic growing, and I'm working with limited resources and especially limited space right now. I'd like to avoid brewing up actively aerated compost tea unless it is absolutely 100% necessary. I'm using FFOF soil, and the line of General Organics nutes (including their "Diamond Black" humic acid and "BioMarine" squid emulsion), and I'm wondering if by feeding regularly and giving my plant molasses, I could keep the microbes in the FFOF alive and eliminate the need to create new microbes with compost tea. Is my understanding of organic growing flawed?
Yes you can! But I would add ewc and or compost. That will be your main source of microbes, and the molasses will feed them. I'n not familiar of the microbe content in FF soil, but either way, I would recommend amending your soil......MIW
no, it's not nec. It is used if your soil is poor and has no bacteria in it. But if you have horse manure/compost/chicken manure or other ferts with bacteria they're not nec. since the bacteria are already in the manures you added. They'll always help but not nec.
Agreed with the above posts. My first 3 organic grows, 1 guerilla and 2 indoor, were only amended soil and water. I was so stoked from the results of those that I was motivated to start with AACTs.
