Cedar produces natural pesticides and is resistant to rot which is why it is not safe to use in a pipe. Thats also why it is such a valuable lumber for building.
and there phenols released when its heated from said phenols the splinters can cause necrosis like some spider bites
Yeah I think the phenols also act as the pesticides I mentioned but I don't remember exactly what they were called. Good post.
