Is Anyone Else Like This?

Discussion in 'Seasoned Marijuana Users' started by Clams Casino, Mar 3, 2013.

  1. I haven't smoked weed in about 2 weeks because I've been saving every penny for spring break, and I'm off work until the end of the month so I've been pretty cautious. I felt it was long overdue though, so I decided to buy a twin today.

There are benefits to having all your connects connected to each other, but there are also downsides. Today I realized the downside, when I figured out they were all in legal trouble, and out of the drug game until further notice. Bummer.

So I did what any high school post grad does in this situation, and lurked my Facebook newsfeed hoping to come across someone in a YMCMB sweater casually advertising their "kush" via Facebook status. I was in a great conversation with a girl I'm sort of seeing, so that took my mind off the task for a few hours, but I finally found the status I was waiting for.

"Bombbb purp kush holla (his number here)". Intriguing. Although I figured this guy was talking shit, ive known him for years; he was actually the first person I had ever purchased weed from. So I messaged him and went over to his house.

Despite the story that had little point to it at all, I had realized on my way there that I'm not stoked at all when it comes to buying indica heavy strains, which is weird because I have severe insomnia. I hate the feeling of being lazy, and this "purp kush" tends to just knock me out. Does anyone else feel this way?

Anyway I got the weed, and it looked exactly like it did last time I bought "purp kush" off someone. The outside is green for the most part, but inside there's a lot of purple bits and pieces. This one smelled a lot stronger though, so I'm looking forward to the bowl I take after this thread's posted. Why did I post this thread before smoking my first bowl? Because odds are I'm going to bed

Tl;dr: Do you enjoy indica heavy strains, or do your best to stray away from them when sativa alternatives are available?

  2. Damn, looks like some good shit. Good grab, what was the price on it?

  3. Everything here is generally $10 a gram, but that's good and bad. There's tons of desperate dealers that are slinging anything they can get their hands on, but if you have solid connects you'll get good stuff on a consistent basis. I'm pretty good friends with the guy that has most of my connects working for him, so he lets me know when they don't have good stuff, which is rarely haha

  4. It really just depends with me. While I like a nice indica to relax sometimes, mainly I tend to stick to sativas. I always need some extra energy to get everything done I need to and a potent sativa is always a go to. Either way you are still staying lifted ;)

I actually get some fairly different effects from weed than I normally hear other people reporting. Whether or not it's indica or sativa, the stuff mostly just levels me out, it allows me to mentally slow down if I want to, which is why it is great for my insomnia. Because academic study is my lifestyle, I'm usually wound up on some critical thinking issue, during the normal day to day when I'm not at some friend's place.

Also, I believe my autism has something to do with this, because cannabis relieves me of the autism symptoms that have to do with anxiety.

You see, autistic people get very nervous when there is a variety of noise around them that is difficult to comprehend. Because of our impairments when it comes to social information, it requires greater effort for us to keep a conversation at a party, for example. Think of it this way: as opposed to easily and unconsciously interpreting multiple social cues at once, from body gestures to vocal inflections to vocabulary choice and social context, all of a sudden you are only given the option of keeping up with two or three of those, and I mean not even well enough to get past numerous miscues. Now imagine that you are also impaired in distinguishing different voices if there are too many at once, so you have to make a mental effort to pick apart what the person talking to you is saying from the jumbled mess that is bombarding you.

So if a lot of people are talking at the same time during that party, and there is music on and other stuff going on too, we can get really flustered. But if I've smoked cannabis I can casually talk with people and basically deal with social situations without my symptoms flaring up. Sativas make me more heady, and make me bring up more "stoneresque" topics, while indicas just make me feel really chill. Sativas are great for reading books, or kicking arse at video games (you know, the intense thinking), while indicas are great for making casual conversation while playing cards.

What I think it is, is that because we are naturally more wound up, when we toke it brings us down to somewhere near average level anxiety and thought speed, instead of getting the average person's experience of those two things going even further down. It's kind of like it makes me feel more like a "normal" person for a little while, you know?

  6. Yeah this one hasn't put me to sleep and I'm feeling pretty energetic so I'm definitely satisfied haha. Maybe I'm really sleeping but typing this out in my dream. We'll see

  7. It's always great to hear people actually getting a benefit out of marijuana that isnt a dillusional excuse to support the habit. For me it's the exact opposite in social situations haha. It definitely slows me down, but I feel it's difficult to reply as fast as I usually would, and tell a story or go in depth with something because I'd lose track of the point of what I was talking about

  8. Indica only if I can. I feel sativa are just half the high, missen that cbd

  9. I prefer Sativa (hence the name) i just don't like how unbelievably tired you get from smoking up a lot i indica.

  10. I'm typically a sativa girl, but weed is weed mon.

No offense intended, but when I hear so much on this site about people just getting way too tired from Indica, I get the feeling you guys are just smoking a little too much. I mean, I can definitely see how that would be the case because Indica makes me more chill, relaxes my muscles, but the differences aren't as marked for me as for you guys. And I think that could be because I'm not trying to get straight up baked every time I smoke.

    From our friend, Mr. Clams:

Naw man, I don't really use it as an excuse at all. But the thing is that I love my life and see myself being successful and healthy while being a stoner, so I don't see why I'd need an excuse for it. You don't see people being a jackass to someone who drinks every weekend, as if they need some big excuse for it, and here we are doing something that is way less harmful and impairing, and it's us that need to come up with some great reason? They'll have their fun and literally go run someone over, but we're criminals for doing something that has only been proven not to have long lasting effects on the brain or lungs, and it's not causing fights in bars or killing innocent people on the road. It's just seems loony to me that I'll be winding down in a safer way than all of these hypocrites, but I'm the one who needs to fix his moral compass. Hahahahaha...
