I mean, if I really had to pick a hero it would either be this guy or Paul Westerberg. The guy was just a brilliant songwriter. Everything he did was just so literary and ridiculously well written. I mean, I know there a lot of bands and musicians from back in that day that had a similar sound, but nobody wrote lyrics like him. He just had something of a knack for telling great stories. I can't be the only one out there on this forum.
Excitable Boy is a true classic, he was a songwriter's songwriter! Give him his props, he was truly an American original, humor and pathos and food for thought all at once.
