irritable when not high?

Discussion in 'General' started by richardblabla, May 3, 2011.

  1. Ok, Im on the first day of a tolerance break, and due to the fact that Ive been blazing several times a day for the past few months, I think I might be mentally addicted.
Does anyone else find they get irritable or pissed off far more easily when in a sober state, after your bodies used to being partially high all the time?

  2. Yup. but I'm just irritable in general so when i smoke it chills me out, and yes craving it and not having it can make me irritable also. It's all mental for sure, but it's just hard when you WANT something. But just remember, you were fine before you started smoking, so you know you can be fine without it. Just keep a wall up in your mind when you think of pot just block it out and suppress it dont think about it, ignore it. hope i helped lol

  3. short answer - yes

    even shorter - Si

  4. yeah man that'll happen. but it should go away after a couple days. You will probably have trouble sleeping and possibly eating. But after a few days it'll be over and you will be back to normal.

    good luck

If you think about it, its not all that weird to be irritable after something you are adjusted to is changed/removed... biggest example i can provide, lack of sleep, causes hardcore irritability... your body wants to sleep and doesnt give a FUCK about anything else... Because you are adjusted to sleeping when you need sleep, but people who dont sleep alot, can be chipper and happy on 3 hours of sleep every 2 days, they are adjusted to that schedule..... Changing shit around confuses the habitual portion of the mind, the mind like patterns, we tend to break them. Dont fret it as some form of withdrawl or anything..... cannabis withdrawal is generally related to sleeping/eating, and changing those schedules around can also lead to irritability so its to be expected

  6. This is the case with my boyfriend, but it could also be because of the things he has been going through. He should get better pretty soon, I'm anxious to find out if addiction is the case though.

    Well said,

also I would say try to think logically in times where you find yourself irritable, and try and not let your hormones change your temperament. Being in a bad mood is not good for you in my opinion. But it's also good to not put up with people's shit; in those times I'll let the hormones fly.

  8. Weed relaxes me. Without it, I get annoyed a lot easier, and my strong temper can come out a lot easier. I am a boxer and a hockey player, so I am someone who has been trained to express anger in a physical nature, so weed really helps keep me leveled.

You'd be surprised at how many boxers smoke pot to keep themselves mellow.

My last break from pot was last March when I spent a week in Italy with my girlfriend. We had 4 or 5 fights (yelling and her temper tantrums...not the physical kind, I only hit people in the ring or the arena) in the 7 days we were there...which is above our normal rate.

  9. interesting posts, cheers. haha im sorry(ish) to say i broke my tolerance break lol, ill try again tomorrow

You'd think it would be, but some are so set in their belief that there is nothing wrong with weed, that they wouldn't clarify it as withdraw.

You can go through withdrawals from caffeine too does that make it bad?

  14. I believe its called withdrawal sir, hehehehe

and one can have withdrawals from anything habitual, withdrawal means separation, its universal, people use the term like it means something crazy hahaha.

But yes, with any withdrawal you run the chance of being irritable, as like i said, you broke a pattern your brain was adjusted to and the mind doesnt enjoy breaking patterns

Who said anything about it being "bad"

  16. defensive much ?

  17. not you sir, not you haha. This if kinda furthering what i mean, person read you said its withdrawal and instantly assume something negative... you can have withdrawal from wake n baking if you are used to it and stop..... you can have withdrawal from eating your lunch at a certain time if you had a job that you had the same lunch time for years and years... habits, are breakable, and with that comes withdrawal, people need to realize its not a bad thing lol

"but some are so set in their belief that there is nothing wrong with weed" I would infer from this statement that you are saying it is bad.

Nah not at all, I've just watching this guy posting dumb shit all day.

  20. No he is saying that there are people convinced if you smoke weed you will be invincible to ailments and that nothing negative can come from cannabis, neither of those would be true statements.
