  3. Ok iron I just ordered the floralicious bloom I'm flipping to 12/12 in a few days should I use the floralicious plus until that gets here or just wait for the floralicious bloom to make it?

  4. Im about to start the flush with the first cycle of trying this method out and despite fighting some pesky whiteflies for most of flower my bud still looks pretty damn nice. I'll be sure to post up some post harvest pics to add to the Iron Method bud porn.

  7. I wouldn't recommend HPS for veg the nodes get spaced to far apart. 600 is fine for a first grow, see if you can get a MH bulb for veg. Cycle. Iron uses fluorescent T5's for the younger plants, then 1000w MH once they are older I believe. Then 2-1000w MH/HPS combo in the flower room. Nothing grows Em big inside like a 1000 watt but kind of a waste early on.

  9. I am using a variant of your method ( using jacks hydro nutes in 50/50 coco/perlite 12L hempies

It works great and I don't see why it would not work great using your base nutes

the bottom of a hempy has 100 percent perlite up to about 1/2 above the one small drainage hole in the side of the pot so there is standing water in the "reservoir "

So it is important to water until about 20 percent runoff in order to refresh the oxygen in the entire pot including the reservoir , and of course to help reduce salt buildup

And IMO coco it's best to keep wet . I think it keeps the PH on the medium more stable, I never ever let my hempies get anywhere close to dry

Once the root zone is starting to be come established I water until runoff every day, ( even for 2 week old seedlings) and sometimes twice a day for larger plants . I experimented with automatically watering every 3 hours but didn't see much improvement over once a day.

I never wait until the plant needs watering. I don't ever test the posts for weight to determine when to water. I just water at least once every day once the roots are starting to be well established . Doing so pulls oxygen into the root zone and there is nothing a coco hempy likes more than oxygen in the rot zone

I'll be interested to see the results using your base nutes . I am watering with a mix of 1.2 EC, with absolutely NO issues, deficiencies, burn.....

Once the root zone is established, if you think you have overwatered, it's most likely not overwatering but something else . It's nigh on impossible to overwater a hempy once the root zone is established , and it's more likely something else

    Sorry for the long post

  11. Subbed up to the new one, nice updated thread! My plants are loving your method , any problems in had was due to me making mistakes, it's a solid nutrient mix and we'll balanced. Thanks again iron

  12. Yo man, once you start the SM-90, whiteflies will be a thing of the past. You could foliar it on and be done faster, but just watering it in will help the plant to build up a strong pest resistance.

Don't forget that bud porn! That goes for everyone in here.. We wanna see your pics to show this method works!

  13. I dunno if BioAg is shipping worldwide yet... They are just startin to really take off.. Any kind of mycorrhizal fungi should be ok. Xtreme Gardening Mykos is the one I used before I found the VAM.

  14. I'm with ya on that one.. I do not like HPS for veg.. I run T5's in early veg, dual 400 MH bulbs in late veg (On Deck room) and 3k flower room with 2 1000w HPS and a 1000w MH Blue mixed spectrum. I love the mixed spectrum.. Everyone should be doing that to some degree for the best results.

  15. I still gotta give Hempys a try.. However, I'm having a hard time locating 20 gallon pots with no holes in the bottoms.. Gonna try Tractor Supply today..

I think my other 20 gallon containers without holes are old horse troughs or somethin.. For the life of me, I can't remember where I got em from.

  18. thanks i have been following the other thread and have read it in its entirety. thats why i said i am using a variant of his method.

my comments are in responses to Iron saying he say going to try coco in hempy buckets soon, and i replied in order to give feedback on my success with that style of pot using a variant of his method.

I use jacks because i live in argentina and don't want to haul liquid nutes (because of the weight of the water) in my checked backs when returning from the USA. Jacks is dry so the equivalent weight (as compared to liquid nutes) provides probably 10 times as many waterings as a liquid does. other than using a different base nute at a different concentration and different N-P-K i use most of the components of irons method

though i am decidedly "use the meters" kind of guy, i appreciate that provided your water is decent, for some blades, the use meters isn't really required with irons method

  19. I'm still going to have to start out using the old method... I have all the original stuff ill have to use first before i start buying the new stuff. So that sucks, but i dont want to waste a whole bottle of floralicious plus and stuff. Once its gone ill switch though. I still have 3 months before i can get things started, but im super excited! Hahaha
