Iron deficiency... any ideas?

  1. It's looking like I have an iron deficiency, I'm thinking it's a pH lockout because I know my water is hard as hell, and I only use these dilute organic nutes, so I think my pH has just gotten too high. Any ideas for lowering it? I might have to invest in some pH down, but I'm thinking there must be some sort of organic method, problem is I don't have access to a lot of organic materials, but any suggestions would be awesome, thanks!

  2. Apple cider vinager, distilled vinegar, lemon juice... basicly anything acidic will lower your PH. And on the opposite side ph up would be like baking soda. Always adjust the plain water's PH first, then add nutes, then adjust accordingly.

Yeah, a pH test kit would probably make this a whole lot easier, might have to add that to the shopping list. In the meantime, I think I'll use a dash of lime in my next watering and see what that does for me. Hopefully I can use that as a quick fix until spring break, when I can pick up some Down To Earth ferts. Nice organic stuff.

EDIT: Oh, and, thank you! Although, really I already knew that, I tried that with my last plant and I think I overdid it, but you have given me the courage to try again, but this time, dosage! Dosage!

  4. Well a pH kit is worth its weight in gold. Dailing into the right pH is pretty precise business, I can see how easy it is to over do it. And if you dont hit the mark, or close to it, you lock out a ton of nutes and other business.

Again, good luck to yah man :) trying to help :smoke:

  5. Yeah, I think I might see about picking up a pH meter when I start to grow in earnest. This grow has been plagued with so many problems, I'll be happy if I just get an eighth out of it. Anyway, thanks again.
