    Ill make one right now,

    Step 1: Download EXCURSION irc, from http://excursion.humr.org/modules.php?name=Downloads&d_op=getit&lid=24 install it to C: and make sure there are no spaces in the locations at all (like \"C:/program files\" for example)
    (Excursion is an irc script, itll make it look nicer then the regular irc and run better)

    Step 2: When you first start up \"Excursion 9.5\" or \"mIRC.ExCurSioN.exe\" you might want to disable the start up mp3, its kinda annoying. Go to \"Script options\" at the top then \"Script menu\" and select \"Theme mananger\" you can select a theme so it suits you a little better.

    Step 3: Next, Type /server irc.efnet.net into the main window. Then when youre on a server go to the folder icon at the top (should be the 3rd one), then type in grasscity and join.

    Ill be in there for...a good long while, whoever joins maybe we can all have a chat. :wave:

    please if mods could make this sticky id love you mods from grasscity will get mod status on IRC and high rep people will too if they want and will be active

    Absolutely not. Grasscity\'s name is not to be used in conjunction with this and the moderators will not be doing double-duty over there. You can start anything you like but it won\'t be advertised at Grasscity and it will not have Grasscity\'s name on it and we will not be involved. This has been brought up many times in the past and it has been nixed every time.

    Yes, there are far too many legal issues for us to become involved by using our name to endorse such a thing. And of course the Grasscity name is trademarked, and can\'t be used for any purposes without express premission from the owner of the site, Superjoint. Using the name without consent can carry serious legal consequences.

    haha ok, not to be a prick or none shit but why would superjoint care if there was an irc channel that carried the same name as the site? What bad could possibly come from an irc channel? I mean i could give two fucks about an irc channel, but im just really curious as to why you guys are so defensive about this, like in detail what legal complications there would be, if you have time.

    The details aren\'t important. The fact is that the Grasscity name is trademarked and it won\'t be associated with that. This has been brought up for years and we\'ve expained for years that the City will NOT be involved.

    Not to be a bitch, there\'s no defensiveness...just fact. Plus, I\'m sick and tired of having to respond to these threads. These are to me what the \"newbie\" threads are to you guys.

    Grasscity will not promote it and will not advertise it and will not allow it\'s name to be associated with it.

    Besides, no one but SJ pays for these forums and his legal business is his and his alone. If you don\'t like the way things are around here, no one is begging you to be here. These forums are free to you and will be run as SJ wishes. He\'s not sharing his trademarked name with an IRC channel. He\'s spent too much time and money building this business. He\'s not going to risk it for this and he\'s not going to be liable for whatever goes on there.

    Think about shit. Research the laws for copyright and trademark infringement. Common sense should figure it out for you but if you\'re asking then it apparently hasn\'t.
