    Iranians turning to black-market medicine due to collapsing economy | World | News | National Post

    I'm not going to quote from the article, just read it, it's not long.

    American + Other nations' sanctions cause this. And Iran is still the enemy...?

    and our government is full of neocons on both "sides" like this:http://www.cnn.com/video/#/video/be...-in-your-face-nomination-for-defense-secy.cnn

    saying that anyone who even thinks about not sanctioning Iran is "not in the mainstream" is indescribably stupid, yet sadly true in American government.

  3. That's tragic.

    @Aries
    I was thinking something similar: Maybe less people would support this policy if it was given a more fitting name. 'Economic sanctions' sounds so benign.

  4. We will see. It could be a while before we see if this turns into another Iraq.

  5. If Hagel is confirmed as defense secretary, at least it would mean there's a chance that someone in the President's foreign policy circle might raise an objection to our current murderous, failed policy towards Iran.

    How else will we weaken them before the attack? It worked perfectly with Iraq.
    Besides, sanctions are just harmless actions to teach a country a lesson, right? :rolleyes:

    But seriously, sanctions are often more murders than war. In fact the US ambassador to Iraq resigned in between the two wars due to the fact that they were committing 'silent genocide'.
    I'm pretty sure it was an ambassador anyway, it may have been another official.

  7. Yes, sanctions are what's causing their failing economy and lack of medicine.

  8. Sanctions are making it a lot worse, but I wouldn't way it's the one and only cause of their failing economy. But if they could actually sell their oil to half the world I'm sure they would be a lot richer and better off.
