iPhone app thread

  1. If you have an iPhone and recently got a cool app, post it here so others can check it out. Most of these should be available on Droid too but maybe someone could make a Droid thread to keep them separate.

Here are some of my favorites:

SoundHound - A song tagger. In my experience it's faster than its rival, Shazam, and also has the ability to identify songs that you hum or sing.

Word Lens - Instant translator ([ame=http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=h2OfQdYrHRs]YouTube - Introducing Word Lens[/ame])

Starmap - Shows you stars and planets as you point your phone towards the sky.

Dropbox - You can share files between your computer and your phone by dropping them in here

5-0 Radio Pro - Police radio

Netflix - If you have a subscription, you can watch any instant movie on your phone.

Yelp - It's a food app, but it has a "monocle" feature, where you point your phone towards a restaurant (or any area) and it'll show you it's rating in real-time. You'd have to see it to get what I'm talking about.

Find iPhone - This is more of a service than an app, but if you lose your phone, you can go on any other iDevice and it'll show you exactly where your phone is. And you can also remotely lock your phone with a passcode or even wipe it cmpletely so anyone who finds it can't fuck with your info. And you can remotely display a message on the screen too.

Call of Duty Zombies - The fucking best game ever. It plays exactly like the console version, and all the maps are there too. The controls take getting used to, but they're mad easy once you get used to it. You can play online if you have WiFi.

The two apps I'd love to see, but I know will never exist are Erowid and WeBeHigh.... anyway, tell me what apps you recommend!

  2. So, I downloaded wordlens and it sucks.

  3. It's version 1.0 man, give it some time :confused_2:

  4. The ad is very misleading.

  5. Well then I suggest you uninstall it. PM me if you want to discuss this further, I'd rather not fill up this thread if you have no apps to recommend.

I guess then doesn't matter to you?

Edit: Holly shit lol, I knew the retina display was higher resolution but I didn't think it was this much.

And bien means well and is good not the way you wanted to use it. This app fails. Yes I'll recommend some apps for you too, hold on a min.

  7. 1. Field Runners - Awesome defence game.
    2. Infinity Blade - You wont find an iOS game with better graphics.
    3. WallpapersHD - Has very very high quailty photos for your wallpaper
    4. Pandora - Perfect for the car.
    5. Cydia, it's the app you get when you jailbreak. It'd like an app store but with no rules.

  8. my friend was telling me how he has this app on his iphone called roll your own..apparently it teaches u how to roll j's..any1 try it out/knows if its good and actually teaches

  9. Wow that's crazy I just looked it up on iTunes. It teaches you how to roll Js with videos and stuff.

  10. im new to the whole app thing but still dont find my ipad very usefull and would return it if i didnt get it for free. but here is my list so far. vevo, ibomber def, air video, and mx mayham.

  11. How did you get an iPad for free

I'll take it off your hands!

  12. FlightTrack- Does just that... it tracks flights. You just put in the flight information, and you can check on the status.

    Quid- currency converter

Photo Transfer- transfers photos from my phone to my ipad without a computer

    Epicurious & AllRecipes- recipe finders

    Emoji- silly fun

    Scramble and Scrabble- word games

Hipstamatic- fun camera ap that gives cool results

    Photogene- photo editor

Flickr- syncs with my online flickr account

  13. Starmap looks awesome but its pretty expensive.

I have the 5-0 radio pro and I love it.

I searched the find iphone thing and are you sure you didnt download that joke app?

Pandora radio - online radio. duh

    iTriage- medical refernce guide

Siri-a personal assistant app that can find places and even make reservations for you

  14. Yeah 5-0 radio pro is cool but they don't have my town. It works off of online streams from the internet, so if it's not on the web, the app won't get it. And it's a little unreliable because most police stations use a few different frequencies, and most of those aren't streamed online. It's still cool though if you live in a big city.

But the Find my iPhone thing is the one made by Apple. You sign into MobileMe on your computer and it'll show you where your phone is. It's free for everyone, you don't need to have a subscription to MobileMe. Just use your iTunes account.

  15. Well damn. Ironically I cant find my phone right now...
